Main Features • Stunning user interface with 13 beautiful themes • Syntax highlighting for over 440 languages • Create nested folders, Smart Groups, and shortcuts • Add notes & tags to a snippet • Include multiple fragments in a single snippet (useful when one snippet logically consists of multiple separate "parts," such as a header and an implementation, or different solutions to one problem; every fragment under one snippet can have its own language and note) • Multiple windows & pin individual window at the top of the screen • Use advanced search filters (search by folder/tags/languages) to find your snippets instantly • Use iCloud to synchronize your database across multiple devices • Automatic code formatting (for supported languages) • Export the library to JSON, XML or plain text files • Use the SnippetsLab Assistant to search, browse and create snippets right from the menu bar • Automatic backups for a peace of mind • Support for printing, sharing, macOS Services, etc. Markdown Support - SnippetsLab is also a full-featured markdown editor! • Create markdown snippets • Choose between editing, preview, or side-by-side view mode • Accurate two-way scroll synchronization • Syntax highlighting for the same set of over 440 supported languages • LaTeX rendering support • Keyboard shortcuts for quick formatting • Fully customizable CSS themes Integrations • Sync: Customize the library location or use any 3rd-party file-based sync services (such as Dropbox or Google Drive). • CodeBox: Import from CodeBox Library (.cbxml) files • Gist: Import from GitHub Gist & publish your snippets as gists. (Please note that two-way sync is not supported.) • Alfred Custom Search: Start searching from Alfred using the “snippetslab://search/{query}” URL scheme • Alfred Workflow: Search and view the results directly in Alfred, open them in SnippetsLab, copy to clipboard or paste to the frontmost app (Note: Alfred Powerpack is required to use the workflow) Supported Languages For a complete list of all 440+ supported languages, please visit: https://www.renfei.org/snippets-lab/manual/mac/faq.html#what-languages-are-supported

  • App crashes often and does not support JSX

The constant crashing on initial load has forced me to delete the app. Another annoyance is the fact that React JSX snippets are not linted and after messaging the developer, there are no plans to support React JSX.
  • Great application, please don't vanish again!

    We love you
  • I see no support or contact options

I don't see any way to contact the developer for support or feature requests and I don't have time to write my own app at the moment. Not sure if it will run on Big Sur... we'll see. The dev put some thought into the app... so 4 stars for current features. However, the lack of developer contact is a real dealbreaker for me. The only feature I really need at this point is the ability to quickly reference an existing snippet as I type in the editor. (intellisense style or hotkey=>find) This would make it much easier to quickly add frequently used templates or patterns (e.g. block comments) without having to type or paste-in from another app.
  • Works great

It's super nice to be able to store all my code snippets and organize them by language. Syntax highlighting is great too. I would have given it a 5/5 but the lack of syntax highlighting for SwiftUI is a bummer.
  • Great app!

I find it is useful to have snippets outside of Xcode handy. This app does a great job... I wish you could set up the formatting exactly like Xcode but that doesn't seem to be possible yet. The iCloud syncing works great across machines. It even pulls in the preferences! Supports a LOT of languages... but, yeah - SwiftUI would be next on my list
  • Great app for quick access to code/info

Indispensable for quick storage and access. One issue detracts from a 5 star: multiple crashes on opening (running on Catalina). The crashes occur randomly, but once they occur, they can occur multiple times in a row.
  • Crashes on Import

I can't import anything. The only reason I purchased this app was tha ability to import Github Gist...but every time I click the "Import" menu the app crashes. Need a refund. This is not acceptable.
  • Needs SwiftUI support

I like the app so far, and bought it for IOS/ Swift, however it does not have support for SwiftUI syntax like HStack VStack Text etc. If you could add this I would bump up to 5 stars, or give users the ability to customize and add their own keywords and colors. Also an Ipad version would be nice since I am going to migrate to development on Ipad but that is just a wishlist item. Thanks...
  • Good, but need updated syntax for modern languages

Overall a solid offline code documentation tool with a way to backup in a cloud drive of your choice. I didn't want to knock down the review just because of some missing things, but I'm not able to get correct code highlighting for front end languages like SwiftUI and Vue.
  • Need Dark Mode

Will you be updating this app for Dark Mode?
