Design Home: House Renovation

Hello fellow designers and design home creators! I love this app, play it every day, and can not stress enough how much I would recommend it. I love that we get to vote on other’s designs and now earn 2 home points from regular challenges and five home points from elite challenges and the seasonal series’. Though there are may things to love about this game, I do have one problem. This is a big deal to me, so please keep on reading. In a recent challenge that I did, the curtains were gold and the wall was green. Because of this, I felt obligated to use items from the sale, the enchanted holiday series. These items either cost gems or real life money in the store. I understand that this is a way to collect money, but these types of influences are in a vast majority of the challenges, if not all of them. I fell like design home should be a community of designers able to express their creativity and display some variety, but I find that hard to do currently. Here’s my solution: maybe Only add those sale bundle influences in the series or bonus challenges? I think that I would be more freely able to express my creativity if I was not -for lack of better words- “told what to design” in this game. Another thing: I would like to say that I am only on level 21, so I do not have as many extra decor options. One thing that I will say, though, is that I would like some more table top decor that you can buy without having to have passed a certain level. I have a very limited selection of decor items, which means that my designs are very limited too. I also think that it would be helpful if you added some table art decor that uses dollars, not gems, because I am almost out of gems due to buying decor trying to make my designs look eligible for a high score. I also think that some pieces of furniture (Couches? Sideboards? Accent chairs? Etc.) are way too expensive. Also, maybe allow multiple decor items in a decor bubble, just for a little interest? And maybe let us choose and put out own decor on tall shelves and things like that because it would let me match the room to my decor style. Please. Please. Can we pick our own pillows? Or at least add pillows as an optional design element? I also agree with what another designer said in their review: maybe give us a money budget instead of furniture requirements? Some of the furniture requirements cost way too much to complete the challenge. Just three more notes. You’re almost there- just keep on reading. I think that there are too many modern design challenges and not enough (I don’t know how else to word this) traditional or country-modern challenges. I also think that it is way too hard to level up. I have been playing this for about half of a year and leveling up has gotten harder and harder every time I reach a new level. Finally, I am actually doing a room makeover in real life, and I have not yet found my decor style, so it would be fun if maybe you could add a decor style test/survey? I enjoy this game and disagree that you can only win by spending a lot of real money on it. I’m not that far yet, but noticed that even though it has over 100 levels, the ability to earn additional “My Homes” homed stops in the 20’s. It would be nice if they added more houses.

This is such a great app it has so many cool features that I am discovering there as been no problems so far and you get to express who you are by the way you are designing so definitely recommend this app!!

It can be fun but seems hard to build up anything if you don’t want to spend money.

Glad I deleted it

So I’ve gotten pretty far in this game and now I’ve completed all of the homes. There’s no way for me to earn anything worthwhile like diamonds without paying for them. I thought ok maybe redesign one of the houses and nothing. They need to add more homes once you’ve completed the initial ones.

Love this app, it’s a great creative outlet. The reason for the 3 stars is because when you purchase furniture you can only use it 4-5 times before that item disappears or you have to buy it again, I really don’t see the point of that when purchasing the items. I also think voting is “rigged” I’ve gotten a 4.45 on a design and when looking at others I’ve seen the exact as mine but they have a 5? Overall it’s fun but wish they could make the furniture stay once purchased what’s the point of making it per use?

Love that everything looks realistic when you first open app. Would like for everything in the app to look real. Also to be able for people to place things where they want. Just more things to look at when you vote. Would give the game more variety.

I have downloaded this game three times now. I keep wanting to give it another chance, because the graphics are gorgeous, but there is no way to score well unless you overpack your designs with their overpriced accessories. Even when you follow their color schemes, the only designs that win are the ones with the “new” artwork. I have enjoyed this game but cannot in good conscious give them more money.

Certainly is a fun game. My issue is that it has become hard to get diamonds of any value for a survey. I enjoyed this game a lot for a while but am stopping it because of the time it takes to get diamonds unless willing to spend cash. I don’t mind paying some along the way but it is to much so it is no longer fun.
