My wife went from completely opposed to my vauge description of my idea for a deck to completely sold on the deck once she could see it in 3D. Import finds virtually anything you need. Easy to use, mostly works. I even managed to get a roof on the house. (Updateed) It is great, there is a way to scale imports(You need to right click and Merge it). If you import a window and want to use it as window, You need to change its Type to "Window" From Support... "2) Imported windows can not be inserted into a wall unless you assign the Windows properties to them using the Type & Representation dialog. This dialog can also be accessed with the help of the context menu. 3) The lack of necessary windows models in the Library can be solved with the download of thousands of models from the Trimble 3D Warehouse." The product is stable and can import so many items that just makes it amazing!

I am a true amatuer just yrying to see my house in 3d interior and exterior. I was able to learn the program enough in one day to build my 3 story house with Balconies, railings, metal roof, windows colrs etc. My wife and I love the ability to change materials and colors to assist us when in choosing our colors.

I had HGTV home design, could not use it because the last update on Mac changed to 64bit. If you used HGTV this program is so simular that its no problem to addapt. Other wise I could understand why people may think it is hard to learn.
  • Great for Basic House Design

Limited for more complicated design such as different height ceilings, slanted ceilings, half high walls. Roofs go through walls without a lot of work to correct. Was unable to put a hole in the floor for a cupola, holes in ceilings work well but not when another floor above. I was unable to put two floor heights in the attick. I built walls with different heights by adding stories but since each story had to had a minimum 1/2 inch foundation it left gaps in walls. Colors do not stop at rooms sometimes depending on how built. Stairs don't specify number of steps or rise or run. I could not turn off wall snaping wich often distorted room shape. 3D ability is great and I liked how shading and lighting works. Windows and doors often did not pass through multible stories. Try as I could i was unable to fix the problem. Hopefully their is a way to build multible stories which line up exactly but I did not find it. I think this causes the window and door problem. A big improvement would be to add wall heights, draw lines to designate certain things such as where a sloped ceiling stops and a flat ceiling begins and to eliminate certain automatic dimentions. I think the program is great for most one or two story homes and is certainly priced right for most users. I have only owned the pro version for less than a month so I may still have a lot to learn. Can't find help on using Elevation tools. Plan view is easy, but Elevation is a mystery. For example how to switch from outside building to inside building and room to room

Stay away! the program doesnt work as advertised and they show it on multiple platforms if you buy the pro. fake!!!! they dont give it to you on the platforms they show it on if you buy the pro. I WAS a big customer BUT now I dont think I will be back EVER. The program has problems and has for several months. they still dont fix the speed issues. I asked the suppport for help and they just beat around the bush. I DID EVERYTHING THEY ASKED. It didnt work so I finally asked for a refund. They again beat around the bush a ton. finaly they told me how, AFTER the 90 DAYS, so I could NOT get a refund. Used to like the company But now I stay AWAY. I have 22 messages of trying to solve the issues. VERY POOR tactics with Issuing refunds and fixing the consumers problems. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I took the floor plans and elevations from my architect to get a 3D visualization of my future home. The image import and dimension tool worked really well for that. I do wish I could import a 2D elevation into the elevation view but it only appears to work for 2D plan view. The program was able to handle the 1.8' elevation change in my house and a roof plan which connected two separate buildings. I wasn't able to create a vaulted ceiling. I'm not particularly happy with default window and door options. They don't allow me to apply distinct interior and exterior materials. Lastly I wish I could deform the terrain around the foundation to create slopes. Instead I resorted to building blocks which create a Minecraft-style terrain.

I have just drawn 2 plans with this software after using a couple of others. Its quick and easy to use and easy to add dimentions were needed. Its great to be able to change sizes of all 3d objects. I am more interested in materials and costs than how pretty it looks so having a material break down from the design would be great. The large selection of 3d obects is awesome but maybe too many. Takes a bit to scroll though. The walk around controls take a little getting use to, but mostly because Im use to other programs. Havent figures out an easy way to do a #d look down on the plan and a wireframe 3d mode and framing mode would be so cool. This is a top easy to use, powerful design software that I would recommend to anyone to try. Thanks.
