Description

Mutual is the largest and fastest growing dating app for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS/Mormon)! Mutual is a place where single members of the Church can make meaningful connections that lead to real dating. The app was created by BYU grads who know how difficult it can be to meet others with similar interests, beliefs and standards, especially outside of Provo. Mutual offers features that help you get to know other singles beyond their profile photos, by highlighting information such as mission location and interests you share in common with potential matches. The Mutual team is committed to upholding the standards of our faith, and making Mutual a genuine and safe place you can trust. All profiles get reviewed before entering our community. Users are encouraged to verify their profiles before meeting in person to ensure they are who they claim to be. We also make it easy to report inappropriate behavior in the app, to maintain a positive environment for everyone. In the words of Brigham Young, "This is the place." MUTUAL UP - MORE FEATURES Upgrade to Mutual Up for access to exclusive new features, including: See Who Likes Me to see who has already swiped up on you, Profile Boost to be seen more often and match faster, Ward Hop to change your location and match around the world, Unlimited Double Takes to undo past swipes, Ninja Mode to go invisible to everyone except people you swipe up on, More Filters to filter by height, and Daily Notes to stand out and increase your chance of matching. ------------------- Mutual is free to use, but if you choose to purchase Mutual Up, payment will be charged to your iTunes account, and your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. • Low quality backend and buggy front end

App is really buggy. Notifications never play sound or vibrate. So you have to literally keep your eye on your lock screen if you want to know exactly when you get a message. Notification badge never displays correct number of notifications. Always just says 1. New interface for editing your profile is really buggy. Many of sub menus can’t even be accessed and layout just kinda trips itself out once you’ve gone back and forth a few times. Servers are bad during high traffic times. Monday evenings and most other evenings you can always expect longer loading times or nothing will even load to begin with. Old conversations don’t delete themselves a lot of the time. Unmatching someone will simply delete the text in the convo but still leaves an empty convo in your inbox that never goes away, leaving a very cluttered inbox. I’ve reached out to the developers on this issue and they’ve never responded. I get the feeling that there is an inexperienced team working on this app, and I also feel like customer service isn’t really a priority for them. Just putting out their own ideas but not too worried about going back and refining/fixing things. A lot of the bugs in this app have been plaguing it since it first launched. Update: I bought Mutual Up for one week and ever since it’s expired my matches won’t show up. Whenever I get a match while swiping or if I receive a notification of a match, when I go to my conversations to look at it, my matches don’t even show up anymore. As if I never even got the match in the first place. Do you guys purposely break the app once the user stops paying you money?? Update: Servers are still garbage for this app. At about 8PM every night it becomes almost unusable, especially on the weekends. At the time when people would really like to use it.

It was good when it was free. Now that they lie about it being free, but SEVERELY limit you to the point of uselessness unless you pay has made it a terrible app. Despite what they say, your matches are extremely limited and they only show low caliber people or say you ran out of people while the number of people who liked you goes up to see if you’ll pay their over the top prices. Ridiculous. Just be honest that you’re only pay to play now.

I’ve been nearly using this app for 2 1/2 years now and oh my gosh! My advice, use this app at you’re own risk. The app itself is actually really good all around (my only tip would be to add a filter to get rid of those who are inactive), but the people. Right now I’m having shivers just thinking about it. I’ve had my fair share of bad dates that aren’t from this app, but this app has shown me nothing (with the exception here and there) but bad people and bad dates. It’s is like a breeding ground for the mentally and emotionally unstable. You will encounter Gold diggers, hookups, clinically insane people, the “let me tell you every mental disorder I have”, scammers (happens when you do worldwide filter) and this year has just been worse. The year 2020 has made so many users absolutely militant and just straight up nasty if you don’t align with a certain political party, trend, or ideological movement that I will straight up swipe down on anyone who has anything like what I’ve just said in their bio’s or pictures. Isn’t the fact of this app supposed to bring people who may think differently together, because we share the same faith and that is something we can agree on? My advice is again, use this app at your own risk. There’s been crazy’s on here before, but in 2020 there’s been a massive influx of them in this app.
  • More filters please!

Wish there were more filters, like ethnicity so we can also meet people of similar cultures.
  • Just OK

Has good phot and profile layout, but lacks key features. Once you “like” someone they disappear and you can’t message them or even look them up again ? That’s just silly, how do you build a relationship if you can’t keep track of who you liked, and communicate with them ? !

I mostly like Mutual. But, there is one major flaw, in my opinion. There is not enough space to write a good bio. I’m sure they don’t want people to write their life story. I’d find that off putting, too. But, I’ve had a lot of good bios ruined because they were a few words to sentences too long. Just space for 50-100 more characters and it would be just right.
