  • Extremely frustrated

I’ve used and enjoyed this app for a while. However for the last week or so it has been extremely buggy. I’ve put hours of work into editing the same photo 3 times now, only to have it not save my work over and over again. I’ve tried saving manually, nothing. Also my stylus that I have used with the program for over a year suddenly doesn’t work... so on top of that I’m not trying to edit with my fingertip. I have no record of recent updates, and see none available. This is EXTREMELY frustrating.
  • Crashes and freezes and way too many liabilities

Months of this and the app devs do nothing about it. I do not recommend getting this app unless you like losing your work or suffering through major stalls for minutes on end while the app tries to catch up — with a brushstroke. Yes, it stalls on simple brushstrokes. 4Dec20 additions: Tools stop working for no reason and the developers give you no access to support (that is, there is no option in the settings anywhere to contact them, not even to report a bug). Which means they leave you completely on your own with no access to developer support and they do not care — they clearly just want your money. There is a support forum, but it is next to useless in terms of creating any real change with this app. The “Personas” were a poorly thought out implementation. Partly because many keyboard shortcuts are duplicated in the different Personas, so if you are in, for example, the Selections Persona, you can’t hit the E key to erase — you have to go OUT of that persona to get to the eraser tool — and half the time, it just deselects itself. SO MUCH tap, tap, tap, and there is no reason for it except that the developers thought it was cool to create Personas. The Filters Menu: this is NOT grouped by similar tool. It is, get ready for a laugh, grouped ALPHABETICALLY. Yah, I know — stupid isn’t it. Stupid because they expect you to have all of the filter names memorized. So that means Box Bur is up near the top of the menu, Gaussian Blur in the middle and Lens Blur, Motion Bur & Radial Blur down near the bottom of the menu. Gawd forbid anyone should not be aware of these types of filters when they start in to use the app — you will need to memorize the manual first. The liquefy tool is a joke — it isn’t smooth at all. When you liquefy, it comes out—no other words for this— CHUNKY (or maybe choppy is another word for it). Probably the best descriptor is “not smooth” but my preferred descriptor is “ugly”. The “V” Move Tool is for most of your transformations — but nothing fancy, mind — you will need a new tool for every single Transform action that you want to do. The dedicated “Transform” tool will only give you the option for flipping and some numerical type-in options ... but here’s the thing, it doesn’t work. Used to work from time to time, but it doesn’t work at all now.
  • Constantly crashing on projects, losing all progress

Constantly crashing while in the middle of projects. There’s also no auto save which has required me to make multiple copies of each project while in the middle of editing.

Recently this app was installed on my iPad and....WOW!!! I used Photoshop for a while and Affinity just beats it to the finish line now! Biggest compliment is that Affinity is mine to own after purchasing it and NOT a subscription based platform. Plus, it integrates very well with all of my technology (desktop and tablet). Definitely recommend Affinity to ANY creative person!!

Same review as always. The workflow of this app is so grating sometimes.
  • Good app..But...12 pro max? Support?

I love this app on my iPad Pro but you guys are missing big on not supporting iPhone 12 pro max (processing power is that of a laptop) defiantly better than older iPad Pro models. You guys should really consider allowing app support for iOS. Any chance we will see this in the future?

If you’re looking to replace using Photoshop on a desktop with Affinity Photo on iPad, don’t. You’ll be dissappointed. Back to the quest...

Pretty good photo editor, but crashes every time I hit the adjustment studio here recently. Has other bugs that need to be fixed.
  • Absolute essential, all I need is multitask(split view) function

App is so good I wish to use it as secondary photo viewer as well but it lacks split view though so it can be helped
  • Still missing very basic features

I enjoy Photo, but it still misses very basic features such as changing the stroke width of the rectangle tool. I hope one day it will catch up to the competition.
