  • Frustrating to use in touch mode, with a keyboard, or with a mouse

I am forced to use Parallels Client to connect to an EMR remotely (Windows app). The “features” (lack thereof) in this app make that very difficult. It loses the connection to the Bluetooth keyboard (Brydge) I use on my iPad, if I switch to another app and return to Client (even if I do it right away), or if the keyboard remains unused for a short amount of time (minutes at most). I have to turn the keyboard off and back on to make it work again. It’s random, so I don’t know when I have to do that until typing just doesn’t work. It also easily loses connection with my Bluetooth mouse, and I purchased that specifically because only 1 kind (Swiftpoint) works with Client. That’s bad enough, but the touch mode for the mouse does not work for certain buttons or scrolling within the Windows app that is running in Client. I think it used to, before the update 2 months ago. It only works if I switch it to “Dumbo” mouse mode, but that is extremely inefficient for a touch interface (to use all of the time or to keep switching mouse modes). I wish I had another option to connect to my EMR - this is that bad. Using a Windows app remotely on an iPad is tough enough, but Client is actually getting in the way and making it even worse.

Can y’all add an always on keyboard option? Disabling the automatic option still closes the keyboard.
  • Thought this might work...

But, intro page asks for a connection but provides ZERO information on what connection to use. Is this my WiFi connection? No help, no way to contact. Sorry, but this is (literally) a non-starter.
  • Works OK - Missing Gestures

The app works OK and introduces some nice features but it lacks support for custom gestures that are found in the legacy version of the app. The gestures can really help bridge the gap between mobile and legacy applications by allowing the user to trigger actions and keys using a gesture.
  • Great RDP Product!

I have used Parallels Client for years - a very solid and reliable RDP client. I would like to see a feature like “folders” added to the Connections screen to allow grouping of individual connections.
  • Bad Import

I have used 2x which is what Parallels bought. It was a great product and always worked. I downloaded the new Parallel’s app and it saw the old client and did an import. 90% of the 20+ servers in my app have no server name. If I have to rebuild everything from scratch, why bother with an import.
  • July & August Updates BROKEN

The special keyboard keys do not work at all after updating to either of the 2 most recent versions. The only solution so far is downgrading to the Legacy app.

  • Good app, small issue

I like the newer feel of this app versus the old 2X app. The only issue I have is in an RDP session on the iPhone 7+ when I bring up the keyboard doesn’t show a question mark key. The key is actually in the shift-numbers but it is represented by a back-slash even though pressing it gives a question mark. Please fix.
  • Doesn’t work

Just downloaded to my iPad. Tried importing legacy settings and app crashed. Tried multiple times, rebooted, etc. to no avail. Tried to manually setup a connection and couldn’t get it to work. Verified that I good ping the target and that ports were not being blocked by the firewall on the target PC. App needs better troubleshooting support. Two hours in and I’m done.
