This app has cringe worthy glitches. The charts specifically work like half the time. If you use your fingers to try and zoom out nothing happens. It’s frustrating because within the chart are informative bumbles that point at candles providing you with information about the trades. These bubbles aren’t always viewable and are out of the picture on your screen, and the app has no zoom out feature. Please fix this! Giving 2 stars because the information it provides is great however the app is so bad I had to knock off 3 stars.

Typically by the time you get the notifications of a trade, the buy point or sell point has already past. Some of the trades are questionable and it almost feels as if this is a robo trader. Some of the stocks they choose for trading have been on decline for the past two weeks but will be up one day to a buy point as the overall market has risen. However once the market takes a dip for that particular day, the stock now moves into the stop loss point.
  • Bad app, Bad Service

With the current market in an uptrend, a beginner could throw a dart at any strong stock and do equally or better than this over-priced service. The Buy Alerts are delayed/received too late, after the stock has already broken out, too late to get in at the right price for a profit but lose money on the inevitable dip after a break out. This issue has been going on for years. Other stock services can send out timely alerts and post Buy Stops in advance but the Swing Trade staff has delusions of grandeur and think that would cause the Market Maker to push up the price even though these buy zones are posted elsewhere in IBD. Do t waste your money.

This is just an iPhone app, mediocre at best. It’s way worse than other IBD apps, such as Leaderboard. A big UI and functionality update is needed. Also, there is no iPad support. It really is a horrible experience to use an iPhone app on iPad. I deleted the app from my iPad and simply use the website, which is far superior than the app.
  • No iPad support unless you use the web.

I think the world of these guys. I watch IBD Live and I know they put their heart into the watch list and trades. For that I give 10 stars. The app is good on the phone. Not sure I like the delay in the time I get the email to the time it updates in the app. However I don’t always trade their alerts, but rather use it to learn to do my own fishing, so the delay is not a huge deal. This would be no issue if the alerts via email showed the pivot point/buy zone and not just the purchase point they added it. Again, these guys are hero’s to me so I am not knocking them in any way. Would love a bit more in the app to allow us to add our own setups and track our batting average for wins vs losses. iPad is my main device most of the time so it would be nice if all the IBD apps got some love there. Wink wink MarketSmith could add the marking on charts with the Apple Pencil. Wow how Bill O would have loved that in the 60’s. Keep up the good work. Give the apps some love. Build something for all your customers to use for tracking our trades. Not all of us just copy your trades.

Details of the trade set up is accurate because i learned the skill of trading first as a swing trader i always look at support and resistance to give me an indication of if to buy and sell and i compare that to the app and it’s spot on The first month is free and I’ve made a profit within the first week that paid for the app for a few months
