  • Impossible Set Up

On face value, this app looks and sounds great. However, I cannot even complete set-up of my son’s new iPhone. I’ve followed all instructions and quite simply, the steps in the instructions are not available when I go to the settings on the device. I am completely frustrated and disappointed.

The text messages do NOT differentiate between who is saying what when you monitor more than one device. It’s extremely annoying. Canceling the services and going with another provider. The only good thing about this (IMO) is the ability to shut off apps at a moments notice (turning them back on however automatically is hit and miss)
  • Text monitoring is awful

I don’t really care for the text monitoring of this app. It’s not real time or even close to real time. It only updates a few times a day and sometimes even less. It allows the child to delete text messages and I would never even know.

  • Child that had the app

I was the child that had the app on my phone, parents if you feel the need to have this app on not only your phone but your child’s phone also, then why get them a smart phone. Yes children love to play games and text their friends, but they need to show trust not rely on an app to get to know your child better, it is also an invasion of privacy for so many reasons, think to yourself how you would feel if it was switch! Be a responsible parent and make the decision to let your child have a phone but nothing fancy so they can learn accountability and rules for online streaming, or if you don’t have the confidence in your child to do the right thing, do the right thing as a parent and have a sit down conversation with your child!

  • Our Daughter’s Soccer Coach Was a Registered Se x Offender!

I have been needing to write this review for a long time. I am so grateful for SaferKid. I got it just to keep an eye on my daughter’s texts. I know kids can bully each other and be mean, and I wanted to know if there was anything we needed to do. One of the things I noticed was a lot of text messages between her and her soccer coach. They weren’t just practice times or texts to the whole team. They were just between the two of them. They were inside jokes and too personal for an adult to be sending to her. It just felt weird that he was talking to her that much. She’s only 12. I talked to my husband about it, and we both felt that something was off. So, we reached out to the school. We made it clear that we didn’t want to be causing a problem, but something just felt off. Well, it turns out, they hadn’t done the required background checks, and HE WAS A REGISTERED SE X OFFENDER! They fired him, and they fired the person who failed to do the background check. Nothing happened, for which I thank Jesus every day. But it’s so obvious that he was trying to build a relationship with her to try to take advantage of her. I do not know what I would have done if that had happened. As a parent, getting this was maybe the best choice we ever made. I cannot recommend it highly enough! If you get one app to protect your kids, it should be SaferKid.

Payment structure is very confusing. In the App Store it says $14.99 per month. Then in the app is states that it renews every three month. Just before you sign up it say it renews at $199.99 per year.

Can’t even use my account info and password to register my kids phone. What a waste: glad there is a week free so I can uninstall this useless app.
