I love this app it’s perfect but I just wish it would also go for the play store to but other then that it is good all the other reviews say it “trash” and “garbage” but it would be better if you invest in this because you can get everything for only 4.99 a month just paying for 10 months is about the same as buying the whole codex and if you always want to get the latest codexes it always updates. I do honestly recommend this app.😁
  • App randomly deletes lists

I spent 3 hours putting in all my armies and lists. I go back today and they’re all gone. Complete waste of my time and money.
  • Sums Up GW As A Whole

Lack of content, errors, battle forged lists disappearing, charging a subscription yet requiring you to buy all the content separately at ludicrous prices. Just using this app feels like I’m being taken advantage of. Little to offer and they have the nerve to charge. Any program that can do this for free they shut down. Corporate greed has taken over this hobby.
  • GW, please learn how a calculator works

Consistently miscalculates the total point value. Great concept, and once the actually get the bugs worked out for the battle forge, it will be worth it. Until then...
  • Ok but useless without subscription

That is OK and has a nice concept but I can find most of the information online and don’t need to have an app for it. the forge thing would be nice but you have to pay money to access is as well. as with most of the other useful books. If you’re willing to pay money it’s A great app however I am not, so I would not recommend it.

The fact that this is a paid app is misguided. This is a support app for a game that costs hundreds of dollars to begin playing in earnest. Viewing this as a tool for entrenched users and not the ultimate vehicle to get new people into the game is bad long term strategy. This could be in everyone’s pocket, but the current target audience hates the app, and will recommend a third party app to newbies. This makes question the leadership of the company. The UI is bad. The organization is bad. The information layout is bad. There’s nothing about this to recommend except that you get to see official pictures of your units.
  • Design and functionality issues - but getting fixed

I am hopeful about what GW can eventually do with this app. They have published a plan on what and when they will be making updating. But it needs work, because right now it’s not great. Everything is by book - codex, Vigilus, or PA. It’s not searchable by keywords - if I want everything that is Slasnesh specific I only get things with Slaanesh in the name. The search function needs to be by keyword. There is too much to scroll thru to find warlord traits, relics, stratagems, etc. and since it is by book you need to look up the Psychic Awakening rules in those books. And items like stratagems and relics are alphabetical, so if you don’t remember the name you scroll thru the lists to find what you want. They have recently updated it with the FAQs and power levels. And added all data sheets for 9th edition. While nice it hasn’t helped with the functionality of the app. It’s formatted for mobile phone only so it doesn’t scale to a tablet format well. They should use a layout for the data sheets similar to AoS. It puts a lot of information in a very compact space. I would consider simplifying the layout. There is too much white space all around and the borders and text boxes can be scaled down. I don’t mind the subscription and they gave everyone a free month due to how poorly it worked when rolled out. They recently added the Battle Forge functionality as a beta. It seems like it’s on the right path but I’ll say it again too much wasted space in the layout. They also need to add digital versions of the codexes. The code in the codexes should unlock a digital version as well. Even if you cannot purchase just digital, which seems like a very odd decision from a purely printing and distribution point of view. I on occasion would like to read the codex and have it accessible on my mobile devices and not have to carry the book. AoS app had the same issues at first but GW fixed those and did a good job with it. I’m hope they will do that here.

The title is a tl;dr but, here’s the actual review. I want to like this app, it’s a cool idea but ultimately it’s execution was (and kind of still is) abysmal. I gave it 2 stars for now because it’s functional (mostly) but it’s still far from intuitively designed, and it’s still missing several features (relics, pre-game stratagems, recalculating points after removing units). I hope the app improves over time, but as it is now, don’t bother.
