Description

Do you have to take screenshots every once in a while? Then you will love FinalShot because you will save so much time! FinalShot lives in your menu bar, and is always there when you need it – 2 clicks, and your screenshot is taken! FinalShot can save your screenshots into a folder you choose or copy your screenshots into your clipboard so that you can paste them into any other app. You can screenshot your full screen or a specific area. To screenshot a specific area, simply select the top left corner and drag your cursor to the bottom right corner to outline the area to be captured. Floating windows help you keep information visible across different apps! They come in handy when you're compiling information or when you're comparing data from different sources. You can use the slider to adjust the transparency of the floating window if you want to see the information below them. FinalShot stores your screenshots as PNG or JPEG files and you can lower the quality if you need smaller files. Please read: You can enable and disable the options 'Save in directory', 'Copy to clipboard' and 'Show floating window'. These options are only active when you see a tick next to them in the menu. Click on the option to enable or disable it.

  • Some reviews are misleading...

I specifically bought this app because the top review stated that screen grabs could be ‘marked’ - total garbage. You take a screen shot (or custom area) and it saves to a folder of your choice. That’s it- there is no ‘marking up’ of the image. I don’t mind that I am out $2, but I was lied to by a top review. I would like my $ back but it isn’t worth the effort.
  • Doesn't work with macos 11.0

I'm using this with Big Sur 11.0 and a new silicon MacBook Pro. When I try to grab a custom frame the framing box disappears when the cursor touches it. That makes it pretty useless for my purposes. Can't say if the compatability issue is the 11.0 operating system or the silicon Mac, but if you have either you may want to wait until this bug is fixed. The setting window has a button to contact support. That didn't work either. Hence the 1 star review.

Very easy to use. Don't need a manual. The quaility is good. The icon in the menu lineup makes it really convenient to start up and take that photo.

Is it me or does this app cause the screen to blur when taking screen shots? I am using dual monitors with a macbook pro i9 2018.
  • Does not allow you to mark, highlight, or add text

Considering that I paid $1.99 for the app, I figuired that I would at lease be able to mark my screenshot, highlight or even add text to the screenshot. Wrong. Like many others, I was sold because of the easy access camera icon that allows you to take an instant screenshot. Do not buy if you are looking for an app that allows you to mark, highlight or add text to your screenshot.

The only thing I wish it could do is choose between .png and .jpg. It only has .png. I take to my mac then convert to .jpg.
