  • My Go To Tool

I've been really happy with Acorn for several years. It's my go to tool whenever I need to create web graphics. It's powerful but also focused on image editing without a lot of the extraneous bloat of its more expensive ancestors.

For 10 years I've used two apps for my graphic design work. Acorn and Art Text. It does everything I need and more. LOVE IT!!!
  • After years of using that OTHER editor, Acorn works!

I started using that OTHER editor, many years ago, and loved it. But once it went to a subscription format, I started having problems as I am often working somewhere while totally off-line, so couldn't verify my license, often in the middle of a deadline!!! After a few months with Acorn, I feel it gets 90% or more of what I need done just as well, thank you! And the price is obviously very, very low for what it does. I'm very satisfied,

I am not a very heavy user of photo editing applications. I do some light editing of the photos I take with my DSLR, cobble up a few graphics for the web, annotate images, that sort of thing. I found Acorn to be infinitely easier to learn than Photoshop or Affinity, much lighter on system resources and surprisingly speedy. I've been using it since version 4 and won't change it for anything else.
  • Just gets it done without all the drama

I've had Acorn since ver. 2. I love it because it is capable and they've added so many useful features. I wish it had ways to transform text or text converted to shapes, but the toolset is perfect and the explanations of the tools and other features are straighforward and very easy to use, even in order to do complex steps on vectors. Get it, you'll love it!

It's hard to believe Flying Meat sells Acorn for the price they do, because it's such an excellent image editor in a thoroughly native Mac experience. If you've used Photoshop you'll jump into Acorn right away. (And so much of what it does is BETTER than Photoshop). I've got lots of image editors, but often default to Acorn because its so easy and so good. This is what all Mac development should aspire to.

This costs way less than Photoshop, so far has done everything I've wanted it to, is easier to use than Photoshop, and their customer service is great! I had been looking for a nice art program that wasn't as expensive as Photoshop for years, and I've finally found it.
  • Bingo!

Thanks for making a capable image editing tool that works as professionals expect it to. Double thanks for not getting on the hype train by marketing your app as if it walks on water. From my experience, certain ultra-hyped image editng products in the ol' Mac App Store don't live up to their promises. Acorn delivers.

Please fix the select "feature" , its very hard to edit text, also make a windowed option, an option to be able that every shape its a layer intead of just a layer for everything , and make an option to save layers to PNG, its a waste of time to send updates and export double the price if you want for this features this its a very close adobe fireworks succesor
