The economist is ranked as one of the top news sources for neutral bias. You can look it up. Secondly, in America, we get a fraction of global political and economic news that we should. To make wise choices economically and politically and financially, everyone needs a more global perspective.

Of all the periodicals available the quality and wide scope of coverage makes The Economist an essential read in today’s world.

I can’t go without economist. But here in Bangladesh it is so costly. I earnest request economist to scale down the subscription cost here in Bangladesh. Thank you
  • Ads despite costly subscription

Despite paying the hefty subscription fee, the app shows ads. Unacceptable.
  • Best way to listen to weekly news

I hate reading news! So, listening to well read and spoken news by a solid news outlet is the right way for me to learn about what is going on in the world. No noise like watching CNN or other sensational junk.
  • The Economist app improves

At first there was an app for each masthead, then there was a coalescing into a single one. Less to manage, easier to use. My only issue is that when using earbuds that connect directly to my iPhone, the start-stop switch on the earbuds does not stop the audio from playing. That forces me to the use either my Apple watch, or reach into my pocket for my phone (oh the shame of it all). It would also be a very nice feature if the backward and forward on the watch display instead of moving to the previous and next article would instead rewind and fast forward x and y seconds as proscribed by podcast skip button settings. Thanks.
  • My favourite newsmagazine

Having been first introduced to the economist through reading for economics classes in university, I’ve come to rely on the economist for a relatively unbiased take on politics and obviously economics that don’t rely on pandering to people’s fears or biases to get clicks. Couldn’t recommend this magazine as well as the relatively simple, and flawless app!!

I LOVE The Economist’s content. The app could be improved in a few ways: 1. Bring 1843 and The World In to the new app 2. Make the touch targets to begin audio playback on the story pages larger. It typically requires 3-5 attempts before I can successfully hit the button 3. Improve which stories are marked as “read” when listening. The app typically only marks the first story as read. 4. Provide options to seek within the audio story rather than skipping to the next story. I have headphones with audio controls that are easy to touch by accident. Finding my way back into the middle of the story is an infuriating experience. If I’m listening in my car, it’s impossible. None of these issues are present in the “legacy” app.
  • Notifications don't open the article they reference

The only way I use the app is when I get notified and when the notifications don't open the article but rather the home screen, it's a real turn off.
