The app is VERY GOOD!!! but I wish they’d add short stories to it. Not the way it is at the end of lessons but like when you click on the words it’ll tell you the meaning and it’s more interactive.

It is the worst app ever. The courses should be all free. It also hacked my phone recently. Never use this app for learning languages.
  • Wonderful App, but...

So, I rated it a three star for one main reason: they should make the main course free. A bunch of people I know have been struggling to find the perfect app to learn an Asian language. They try out LingoDeer, feel that their worries are gone, except when they find out it’s a free trial, it makes them angry. You guys should add a few game features and stuff, and make those ones you have to pay for. The main course should be free. Most people are not willing to pay for an app, so they will just move on to something else. This is a great app and all. I like the teaching method, the tips, the animations, and the accuracy, but the only problem is that it is not free. You guys should make the main course free to make your customers happier. I would honestly be delighted to give it a 5 stars, it actually deserves fives stars, except that’s the only thing that is stopping me from doing it. I know that you guys have to pay the engineers, and the high quality teachers, except adding features that you have to pay for would honestly make it much better. Maybe like a podcast for every lesson, a game of the day, and things? It would improve sales. Most apps use that, and they still get quite an amount of money, and quite an amount of customers. I really like the app for its graphics and it’s teaching method. The audio is super high quality, and I love the useful tips! I can’t even mention the stories! Keep striving, LingoDeer!
  • Writing Questions are terrible

Good app but the number of times the answer for a written question isn't accepted because the Kanji and Hiragana are not exactly what the app is programmed to accept is unacceptable.

  • Best Language App Ever

I’ve used several language apps and this is the best one yet! They explain the conjugation from the beginning so everything makes sense and go over and over new vocabulary. The writing system sounds are spelled out in each possible variation making it a good way to study! Worth every penny!!

I just started and I’m loving it. I fell in love with the free part and was likening it’s expensive but like this works so I went for it and I don’t regret it at all.
  • Needs a better review system

I’ve been using the app since march and the lessons and content are great. While I’ve definitely learned a lot thanks to the app I think it needs to have a more robust review system based on spaced repetition. Currently you can review weak items or a random set but once you correctly answer the weak item it won’t show up anymore unless you fail to answer it in a random set or 5 min quiz. Answering correctly once doesn’t mean that you retain that information forever. As a user it can be frustrating when you try a new lesson and realize that you forgot something from the previous lesson and there’s no easy way to find where it came from. Hopefully an SRS based review system gets added so that I can update this review to 5 stars. It doesn’t matter how good the content is if you can’t remember it.
