  • Feedback email is a dead link!

Your feedback email link is dead. Great customer service. NOT! The most recent update to the eReader app has resulted in my inability to zoom in and out of a single page, AND I cannot scroll up and down within a single page. I attempt to scroll within the page (can’t do it - non responsive to touch), pinch to zoom out (does it, but immediately reverts back to original size), and try both in landscape mode (doesn’t make a difference). I’ve been using this app on the same device since the end of August with no problems. When I chatted with customer service on the webpage, they were extremely condescending in tone: “It’s working on my end. I can scroll up and down.” Well, I CANNOT and I’m paying for the subscription. PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!
  • Slow, Frustrating App

As others have said, Chegg used to have an amazing e-reader app that worked flawlessly. For reasons unknown, they have replaced that app with this slow, buggy mess. Unfortunately, pages of books take forever to load, and turning pages is glacial as well. And the book just doesn’t even seem to be formatted correctly for the app. For example, the page of the book seems to be shifted to the very right edge of the screen. The app is unusable in its current state. I had to return my book and rent the book from another provider instead because I just couldn’t use this app.

  • Spend the extra money and use the Kindle app!

I was very excited this semester when I found my textbook for rental from Chegg $40 cheaper than through Amazon. I wish now I had spent the extra money an just went with the tried and true Kindle app. This app has the worst highlighting feature I have ever used. It take 3-4 tries sometimes to get a section highlighted, then half the time I cant get the information I want all in the highlight. The rest of the time, my repeated attempts at highlighting lock up the app and I have to close it and start all over. Also trying to change the size of the text is easy but the app repeated goes back to the original size. I have sent several emails and get the same response. “Thanks for your feedback” then nothing changes. Will never use again!!!!!!!! No matter how much cheaper it is. Seeing with the App Store that this app has been out for 4 + years and is still this bad makes it that much worse in my book.
  • Great deals, buggy app

I love Chegg but the app for online books is a absolute pain in the butt. Whenever you highlight it does not highlight the sentences correctly and this goes for copy and past work. This makes quoting sources from as book very difficult. Other than that and sometimes will freeze resulting in closing out of the app its a good app.

**Update 11/13/2020 STILL NO RESPONSE!!!** Useless app. I can’t view my book on their eReader app which is designed specifically for their e-books. I have sent multiple emails with no response from Chegg. I also called twice and sat on hold for 1.5 hrs each time to just be offered a refund and “an open repair ticket”, which was NOT what I wanted and is something I could have done myself online and saved 1.5 hrs of my life. Use Cengage learning! Onshore support and their products are accessible and easy to use on ALL of their platforms, not just a web browser.

I like the app and I love the fact that I can have all the books I rented available to read, but every time I am using the app to read the books it freezes out of nowhere and forces me to close it and open it again, all the time. It didn’t bother me the first couple of times, but now it’s really getting annoying. Also the highlighting tool works AWFUL. Hope you can fix both problems soon.

This app freezes so much, I can’t get any work done. I’m behind on my homework because every time I get through a few pages and it freezes and will send me back to random pages/chapters. My device is new and I update it as well as the app. First time trying virtual textbooks but never again.

New e reader is difficult to use. I cant tap to highlight without turning the page. Even zooming in can be a hassle. I wish the book would stay in my library like the old app before the update instead of logging in every time.
