  • Lots of bugs

This app syncs with the iOS version so I'm using it, but it's not so great. The media player shows a play icon when playing, a pause icon when paused, the opposite of every other media player I've ever seen. The media popup window can't be dismissed—the close button doesn't appear until it's dragged?! Tweets can be slected by clicking but not un-selected... It's all kind of just a mess. I guess the developer has other priorities; at least this exists and is semi-usable.
  • Mediocre, and the iconfactory is not worth supporting

Imagine the meeting where a bunch of well-off programmers and designers from Iconfactory, with health insurance and savings accounts and a company patreon, going around the room and each saying why there is no option other than to force an unannounced, unavoidable update on all of their customers that repeatedly asks for money. 8 months since this app was updated.
  • Can't like it

The interface is so simple that makes the twitter app more attractive. It's hard to follow a conversation without having to tripple click to find out. The interfaz is just terrible so simple without grace, after 2 or 3 months of using I am uninstalling it and giving it a ONE star review.
  • Spinning beach ball and double windows

Recently issues started after a couple years of flawless operation. Two windows open (though not everytime) and the spinning beach ball of death appears if there are over several hundres new tweets in my feed. Followed support suggestion of deleting and reinstalling. Yet the problem persists. Not impressed with support. App is not expensive. So I'm looking for other alternatives. Will probably switch to Tweetbot. Only reply from support is "nobody else is reporting this problem." Well, perhaps look into my problem rather than dismissing it.

I have many twitter apps over the years, and the ease of use, features, and attractiveness of the Twitteriffic UI keep me coming back.

Easy to use, elegant. "Muffles" are wonderful. Best unique feature: Delete and Edit Tweet.

Kinda like going to a smartphone, you'll never go back. Been using for a long time. It's beautiful and is uncluttered.
  • Fine twitter client, with some limitations

My usage of Twitter might be different than other people, but the macOS version of Twitteriffic works fine for me. I don’t understand some of the recent reviews which claim that the timeline does not update. It doesn’t update as instantly as it used to, but I’m aware that Twitter has changed the rules for 3rd-party clients (such as Twitteriffic) in ways which make it impossible to do instant updates. I’ve found the official Twitter client (for macOS) to be basically unusable, and in fact I’m not all that happy with the web interface either. So even with those delays, I’m happier with Twitteriffic than the other options I’ve tried. In my case, I spend most of my time sitting in front of a Mac, not an iOS device, so I can’t say much about the iOS version of Twitteriffic. But on my Macs, I leave twitteriffic running almost constantly, logged into four different twitter streams (one for jokes, one for music, one for programming, and one for “just me”). It’s running in the background, and I check those streams when I have a chance. Given the way I use it, the slight update delays do not bother me. I do find that I need to quit it and restart it about once a week or two, or the amount of memory that it uses grows high enough to slow down other applications that I’m using. The memory usage used to be worse, but they’ve been improving it over time. When it comes to handling direct messages those update-delays can be more annoying. It happens that I have always had my twitter accounts set up so twitter sends me an email whenever I get a direct message, so I can carry on a conversation in pretty-close-to-real-time with someone who is direct-messaging me. I read the incoming emails, and then reply via Twitteriffic.
