  • LOVE this app!

I'm so sick of financial apps going to a subscription model for no reason, which is what led me to this gem. Not only is it a one-time purchase, but it blows every other app I've used out of the water! It is so much more customizable than any other app I've tried, and it's easy to use. It has all the features I want/need, and the iPad companion app is actually useful. For me, this app is the perfect fit.

I think SEE Finance is great. I have used it for many years and am happy to pay for upgrades when avaiable. Recently, I have suspected that develoment on SEE FInance may have been discontinued. This hunch was somewhat amplified last week when I reached out to SEE Finance Email Support to ask about an issue in which Vangard acount downloads have begun to fail 100% of the time. The autoreponse email I recevied stated: "Thank you for contacting SEE Finance Support. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of our control support is not available at this time." I hope thst SEE Finance gets back on its feet soon, but this email is not exactly confidence-inspiring. UPDATE: I am so glad to hear back from the developer that neither support nor development of SEE Finance is discontinued. Great news. I highly recommend this app, and look forward to future upgrades (for which I would gladly pay).
  • Not a good experience so far

Maybe a building a new version from scratch is not a good idea if it means a radil change in user experience. Although it might be for the better on the long run, it is still a change and new habits to pick up. Now, in the new version I cannot set up the download for CHASE anymore. it also shows 3 transaction downloaded for another bank account, and I still cannot figure where they are.
  • Support not Available?

As a long-time user of SEE Finance, I’ve been happy to see the gradual progression from Versions 1 through version 2. With a few minor glitches, I’ve been a happy user. Last week, I encountered a problem to do with repeatable crashing in a certain area of the program. I emailed support, and was dismayed to get an automated response which included this: "Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of our control support is not available at this time.” This is somewhat concerning. There was no end date, or a fuller explanation. Does this mean that SEE is having problems? Will support resume? When?

switched from Quicken because they went to subscripton format. ai chowe SeeFinance and i am happy with the program. anot as versit.ale as Quicken but all i really need is a basic home finance program. See does it fine. Would like to have backup choices more flexible. i would like to backut to both icloud and local storage. I created a problem for myself when i removed See from my ipad. it remove all files and that is not nice.had hard time to recover.
  • Super Duper Financial App!

I have read the other reviews of SEE Finance 2 on the AppStore concerning Scimonoce’s fine app, learning that the app was written from scratch. I have used it repeatedly and notice that it has improved with every new update. My review today, June 5, 2020, is my opinion of the app now in response to other previous reviews which say things like “Not as good as the last” or “Good, but…”. I think it is time to chime in, years later after the foresaid mentioned reviews were written, about what I think about SEE Finance 2 as it is at present. The app has grown and it is a mature financial app that is actually better than most other financial programs! I think that SEE Finance 2 is a slick, elegant, aesthetically gorgeous app, which at this point matches, in my opinion, the quality of Quicken for Mac. I have moved fully over to SEE Finance 2 from Quicken for Mac long ago and the features that this app has at this point are just amazing! SEE Finance 2 is a fine choice if one wants to move away from Quicken for Mac or if you are unhappy with your present finacial app. One can use a trial version of SEE Finance 2 in order to check it out, then buy it after being impressed either Online or on the AppStore. The developer has done a better job in building wonderful, customizable features into SEE Finance than a whole team of Quicken developers IMHO... One feature that I like the most is the manual reconciliation with your bank. There are no less that 3 methods, all very simple! In the Reconcile Module is an easy reconcile procedure as well as an even easier reconcile method. These two methods are the same as those found in Quicken for Mac. But then on the actual bank accont register in SEE Finance 2 is a Status Column which utilizes icon symbols for redorded, cleared and reconciled transactions which one checks off as per your online bank account. Once each transaction reflect the state of the transaction according to the bank account online, a button on the register itself reflects the exact recorded amount, cleared amount and reconciled amount as what the bank acount online reports. This is a clever and very simple third way for users on the go. One does not ever have to utilize the other two traditional methods available within Reconcile itself. I recommend this financial program without any reservations!

After 2 decades with Quicken, the romance had died with multiple obsoleting software versions to force upgrades. I am not interested in a subscription based hostage. SEE Finance 2 meets all my needs: 1) no subscription; 2) no extra fees to download transactions; 3) Mobile App; 4) iCloud secure access; and 5) Ease of use.
  • Probably the Best with the room for improvements!

I have started using it about a month ago. Very intuitive, but as all the programs has the room for improvements. I see that you are adding new banks, it will be good to have Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Capital One… Another suggestion is to have the Search option when within pop-up window you are choosing a category to apply to the transaction. Like when type "G" will be easier to find Gross income minimizing scrolling in the pop-up window.
  • Harder than it needs to be

I have been using this for about a month. I only use it to track spending so I don’t use any of the online features like downloading bank statements. It’s okay but there are a few simple things that would make it easier for me. Like, how about it saves a transaction when you hit “return” instead of needing to save it manually. When I post scheduled transactions that are paid by check, I have to then to to the check register and manually enter the check number. It should at least give me a way to enter it when I post it, if not enter it automatically. One of the reasons I use the scheduled transactions is for bill reminders. They are all on the list but it would be nice if it gave me more than one option on how it is displayed. Sometimes a scheduled transaction isn’t a recurring bill but something that is a one time thing. When I post those bills, I then have to delete it from the scheduled transactions list manually or else it will just be there forever I guess. So it’s little things like those that add up to being a lot more work than it needs to be. I am going to keep looking for an app that is more user friendly. UPDATE: I tried some of the things suggested in the Developer’s Response and I’m not thrilled. Putting an upcoming bill in pending transactions instead of scheduled maybe solves the problem of having to delete a one time bill after I post it. However, it subtracts the amount from my check register as soon as I put it on the list even if it won’t post for weeks. Not really a workable solution. Even if it did work, split transactions are such a pain. I used Quicken Starter for years and hoped this would be a decent replacement but I have to stick with my original assessment - it’s harder than it ought to be.
  • Good User Friendly Financial App

SEE Financial is a very good app for tracking and managing your personal finances. This app may also be used for small business finance managment too. It would be nice if the date field would keep the date manually entered by the user, as when entering several receits, they are usually for the same day and not always entered on the current day.
