    This app is so essential for getting at the truth. As a left leaning reader they show me blind spots in coverage and seeing which outlets are reporting what helps to gauge what issues are important to me - whether it’s a left, right, or center organization. I purchased a $10 yearly subscription (very worth it) and I cancelled the renewal as I’m poor and want to manually renew when the time comes. The app’s team contacted me personally to get feedback on why I cancelled. Not automated, they actually wrote to me. Can’t beat that kind of personal touch these days.

    Absolutely love the operating concept! To thoroughly mix metaphors, It may not immediately extinguish the warring tribal dumpster fire of a news-scape we inhabit, but it’s certainly leading the way to doing so! The tools throughout this app are wonderful for finding out more about a story’s origin, timeline and biases. The bias indicator bar below the articles is awesome. That it clicks through when you press center, left or right to another article about the topic from that viewpoint, is delicious. The full coverage analysis graph is genius, showing which sources covered the story with a dot plot graph made of badges representing each source. And there are many other ingenious little tools and features that make this a delightfully pleasurable app to expose the different vantage points and biases stories are covered from and through. Developer: Three requests to take this to the next level...smooth out the scrolling to make this app feel like the polished iOS app it’s well on its way to being throughout. Clean up the text on the “following” tiles. They look very amateurish with letters dangling down on the second line. And please make it so I could find “The Hill”, for example, for following. I didn’t see one of the tiles on offer for it and the search came up empty for The Hill despite it being used as a source throughout the app. Super Bonus: Make the little badges in the full coverage analysis graph click through to other stories by those sources.

    This app and website does a lot to highlight bias that I wish newsrooms on both sides would learn from. I have mostly enjoyed that it does that for me as the reader as well. Well done.

  • Perfect app for those wanting to broaden their media intake

    Media is always a tricky subject. We tend to keep ourselves in our own little bubble and therefore only hear or read stories that further our already strong beliefs or feelings about something. The best thing about this app is the ability to see the same story from multiple different news outlets and see what bias it has. I have been able to read and learn so much with this app about stories that I would not have seen before or maybe a story that is written differently on the left vs the right vs the center. If broadening your perspective is something you are wanting when it comes to news, this is app is perfect!

    With increased polarization and social media algorithms that push people into one extreme or the other, I think the service that Ground provides is timely and critical to maintain an awareness of all the narratives and information you can get. Love it so far!

  • Terrible search function

    The terrible search function makes it impossible to find anything I’m looking for. It forces me to be at the whims of stories that are already on the front page or bias section

    Could not get thru a single article. A new ad or obnoxious come-on assaulted my screen every two seconds. Useless app.
