    I just started using the app and it is frustrating. It shows that my podcasts are downloaded to the watch but when I leave my phone it only downloaded the title. I can’t figure out when and if the they have been downloaded. Explain how fast an average download should take on Bluetooth vs WiFi. Is there a way to see the progress

    Original review: With the most recent update this stopped working on my Series 3 Apple Watch. When I select an episode to play the app closes Update: This corrected itself by reinstalling app on my phone. Outcast provides much better control of podcasts on my watch than the native Apple Podcast app.

    Even with Apple Podcasts syncing to the watch, this app is a must. If you wake up early or want to manually sync a podcast to download to your watch, this app is DEFINITELY the way to go. So happy to see developers recently update this app as I daily use it. Apple Podcasts and every other App Store app I have tried doesn’t even come close. This one allows you to wear the watch, choose your podcast, download it (for me a 30 minute episode takes about 2 minutes even over bluetooth) and I am set. Don’t hesitate to but.

    The app crashes whenever you look for new podcasts (not episodes) by searching the podcast catalog. It immediately crashes after searching and displays no results. The app also crashes when trying to view episodes for a specific podcast. Again, the app immediately crashes with no results displayed. Prior to the update, there were few if any issues. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app in the watch did not help. Restarting the watch did not help. Apple Watch 3 Watch OS 7.1 This also happens in the last major Watch OS version prior to 7.1

    Update: would love an update for some of the obvious bugs: 1. Marking of okayed podcasts is unreliable. Some that are played aren’t and vice versa. 2. Download or streaming can stall and if there’s questionable connectivity, and don’t timeout. You have to force kill the app to make it work again. This app is great, I can stream or download episodes directly to the watch over cell. Finally! For every other podcast app the watch is a 2nd class citizen of the phone, which syncs sometimes, no others and leaves you hanging. Outcast just works. Streaming over cell uses a lot of battery, just like the built in radio app. Downloading and then playing is great. Downloading over cell then a 1.5-2 run battery goes down 25% which is perfect.

    i really like this app, but recently it stops playing randomly and has to be manually restarted. doesn’t matter what device I listen on. so i’m thinking a recent os update broke something.
