Description

Connect my tablet is doing exactly that: It connects your Wacom (TM) tablet to your Mac and restores at least its critical functionality to be creative with Photoshop (TM) and other programmes in Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, HighSierra, Sierra and El Capitan. For many models and macOS versions, the Wacom preference pane, and therefore previous functionality, will be working again. For others, Connect my tablet provides a tool to let you change the most important pen and tablet settings. In Big Sur, as in the latest macOS versions, the pen functions and pen buttons work perfectly for all listed tablet types, as well as most setting options for those pen buttons - after using Connect my tablet. And now Connect my tablet also allows the change of settings of the tablet buttons for Cintiq (21 upwards) and Intuos3 tablet users. In addition, we offer (upon contact) an additional tool for Bamboo CTH users to change their tablet button settings (beta version). That leaves very few tablets, where pen and most important functions are already restored, but tablet buttons cannot yet be programmed – but we keep working on it. If your preference pane stopped already working in earlier macOS versions, you can continue to use Connect my tablet to change your pen and some tablet settings. Also for the oldest tablets, the Utility programme from Wacom is no longer supported in Big Sur and Catalina. It was mainly useful to create backups of the preference settings. Our additional utility tool (available upon request and in beta version stage) allows you now to save and restore them. As you might have to install and de-install tablet drivers, you will have to have full admin rights on your computer. With version 3.x you now get an expert system, guiding you step by step through the reconnection process - or, if needed - the change of settings. Currently Connect my tablet supports and is tested on: Bamboo: including CTH-460/461/470/661/670, CTL 460/470, MTE-450, CTE-450/650 , CTF-430 Intuos: including USB GD and XD series (0 and 2 series); Intuos3 PTZ-430/431/630/631/930/1231W; CTH-series and many Intuos4 (e.g. PTK) and Intuos5 tablets (e.g. PTH) Graphire: 2,3 (Sapphire) and 4 series Cintiq: including 18SX, 20WSX, 21UX, 13HD, DTU-2231 and others But it works for many more tablets and you can always ask us at enquiry@wptrnpt.co.uk Current capabilities for those tablets that not only need reconnection (and then their preference pane works again) but also require settings to be changed via Connect my tablet: • Tablet/ Stylus connected • One group of settings for all applications (although with different backups you can be application specific) • Pen Pressure Sensitivity selectable • Pen Buttons programmable (keystrokes, modifiers, clicks) • Eraser programmable • Double click assistance can be switched off/on • Definition of the active tablet area • Definition of the active monitor (currently for up to 3 monitors) • Definition of the pen/stylus to switch to mouse mode from pen mode • Change of tablet landscape orientations or to portrait mode (some tablets) • Pan (Pan/Scroll) mode for pen buttons (for most tablets) • Definition of tablet buttons (Intuos3, Cintiq 21UX upwards via Connect my tablet, Bamboo CTH via an additional tool) • NEW functionality to disable pen buttons via Settings Menu We may add further settings for change if required and feasible. Customer service was able to guide me to the parts of the process I did incorrectly, and after I did the steps again the pen was able to work! Thank you so much!!! This app is worth the try!

I tried different ways to install my intuos 3 on Catalina running imac, which all failed. Then I got connect my tablet and by carefully following the step, it's actaully working finally! So glad I don't have to get a new tablet just because of updated OS. Highly recommend for people who have similar problems.
  • It works!

As the creators of this step by step process keep reminding the viewer, installing my old wacom is not easy because it's old. They clearly had to figure out some do-arounds. They did a great job, but what they also do well is explaining how to do the do-arounds oneself. If you are not an IT person, there is some hair pulling and a few sweaty moments, but it is possible to do, because I did it and I am not an IT person. If you have an IT person around, go ahead and let them do it. It took me an hour and a half to do what they would probably do in half that time and without all the sweat. Still, the installation procedure is doable and kudos to the team behind this app for making detailed and kindly instructions for installing my old Wacom. tablet.

I just got a new M1 Mac mini, as a replacement to a PC workstation taht had finally given up the ghost after 6 years. Haven't used a Mac in about 15 years. Installing an older than dirt Intuos 3 on the M1 version of BigSur just wasn't happening with my level of understanding. I wasn't happy that it cost me 10 bucks to try a fix, but this program led me very well through the process of cleaning out my old failed installation attempts, and successfully getting my tablet up and running. It's not perfect, but I blame that on Wacom, not these app devs. They were even diligent enough to point out the current crash causes in the tablet preferences and how to avoid them. That's 10 bucks very well spent! Happy Holidays you kings of Tablet Tutorial Apps!

Had a 7 year old wacom Bamboo Capture from my Sony Vaio days and thought it was headed to the junkpile. I'm on a 2018 MacBrook Pro. Somehow, found "Connect my tablet", decided to pay the $10 and boy was I surprised. The app walked me step by step to connect the wacom to my Mac and, as of now, it is working like magic! What a deal!

My Intuos table is a few years old and seems to have issues with newer Wacom drivers to the point that either the pen stops working or I get error messages not allowing me to make a selection with the pen. A few months back I went through numerous tech support sessions with both Apple and Wacom and the problem coudn't be diagnosed. I ended up having to create a new user account to get the tablet working again. Fast forward to present and I purchased a new 2020 iMac. When I transferred all of my files to the new computer the Wacom tablet wouldn't work again. I then found Connect My Tablet and it worked like a charm. It provides easy to follow step by step instructions. Fantastic!!
  • Worked perfectly with my Cintiq 21US 2019 Macbook Pro Mojave

Best gosh darn $10 I've ever spent. Instructions were clear, and it just worked. Spent 4 hours searching for a fix, and after downloading this I was up and running in 60 seconds. UPDATE 12/9/2020 Had to do it again on a new computer. The process was a bit longer but it still works. THANK YOU CONNECT MY TABLET!

Installation was a lot more involved than I was expecting, but developer support was prompt and excellent. They clearly want to make sure the app works for you. This app completely revived an old Intuos 2 tablet, allowing me to use it with Catalina, and I'm confident, beyond. I highly recommend this app!

It's quite a long hurdle of steps to do the installation, but worth it. Thank you, Connect my tablet, for making it work! I've been a freelance illustrator for 30 years and I've used the Mac for my work since 1995. The Intuos 2 is the right size for my dual-screen use, and it's unfortunate that Wacom not only no longer makes such a large tablet, but it refuses to update its drivers to work with newer operating systems. Forcing people to buy a smaller tablet that doesn't work for your customers by refusing to update your drivers is a very bad business practice that you need to change, Wacom –I hope you're reading this.
