  • Lots of unused potential

    The app allows you to search for particular recipes and save ones that you’ve viewed or saved. For those with the all-access subscription, it’s unfortunate that you cannot casually browse through ATK’s vast database of recipes. Another large oversight is that there’s no tie in to all of the episodes and videos that are available via the desktop or mobile sites. These lacking features are gradually convincing me to not renew my subscription when it’s time to do so. Hopefully, ATK works to amend these issues soon.

    The app would be much better if it matched the website. No curation. No comments. Just a database with a less than basic search function. Runs like v1.0.

    Please, please, please get a web designer fix your app! So many great recipes articles and taste tests but it’s a crapshoot whether you find them or not. My favorite thing about Cooks Illustrated magazine are the articles leading up to the recipe they teach me so much. Using this app you don’t get those or if you do I can really find them. Really love the taste tests when I’m looking to buy ingredients but although they they give you the rankings, they don’t give you the reasons why like Cooks Illustrated magazine does. The random recipes that are sent to my email from ATK are better than I can get on the app and I’m paying quite a bit for this app. Some type of a menu button to be able to access components on this website like: recipes, saved recipes, taste tests, video tutorials, etc. and a great search engine to use them with would be so much appreciate!

    Love the app. Use it all the time. Easy to find recipes it’s just a key word or two. Wish i could figure out how to print teh shopping list.

    The app is okay. I enjoy being able to access almost any recipe. I would love to see videos of recipes included within each recipe. Additionally maybe a little bit of inspiration / curation of recipe ideas for each week would be helpful. I always have a difficult time coming up with search ideas. It would be nice to have recipes highlight or recommended for me. Overall I think the app is in its early stages and needs a little bit of iteration to make it better.

  • Good but not modernized for needs

    If this app is updated with a pantry section, e.g. you get to say what you have in your kitchen stock, the app could suggest recipes based on how close you are to having all the ingredients and act as a shopping planner for needed ingredients. That would be the basis to make this a 5 star app. It would lead to suggestions and explorations as well

  • App hangs at signup

    Tried for two days to use the app - signed up for the free trial membership. Everything works on apple’s end and it shows up in my subscriptions but the app just hangs. Attempt to restart the app or reinstall it and it just goes right back to the subscription page - to which Apple correctly says “You’ve already signed up”. That plus the other negative reviews and I’m moving on - their cook book is great so stick to their analog products.
