Screencast – Screen Recorder

Title says it all.

Love screen cast, but would be GREAT if I could select a portion of the screen to record.

its good, it records screen well. but i thought it would record the computer audio too, is it possible to add computer audio while recording? i basicly paid 5 bucks for trash update: the only audio input i can use is either disabled, or built in microphone. nothing about internal audio. i need the internal audio for my youtube channel, i cant go on with mobile gaming forever

GREAT application... just wish there was a way to record internal audio instead of just from the built in mic on my mac book

Why am I having to wait 5 seconds before screen cast records? Bring back the previous edition. This is ridiculous. Also, screencast won't detect my personal microphone after ensuring it is the preferred microphone in my mac settings.

Can't set area record and audio record - can't figure that out. It doesn't seem to have an audio record element other than the microphone??

I see you developers are not answering questions on why this app has no audio. Pretty basic stuff the people are asking about why no audio. Waster of 5 bucks...

That's basically it - it just works. The interface is easy to navigate, and I love that it displays a timer in the menu bar so I know how long the recording is. My one complaint is that when I first launch the app, there is no way to open the camera view window - I have to start the recording and then I can open it. The short 5-second countdown does not give me enough time to get the camera view window adjusted. I end up having to adjust it during the beginning of the recording, then click stop, delete the recording, and start over again. I would love to either be able to change the coundown timer, OR have the ability to open the camera view from the icon in the menu bar BEFORE making a recording after launching the app, like you can after you have finished a recording and left the app running.

Just purchased this. Easy to use. Be sure to give screencast permissions in System Prefs > Securty and Privacy > Screen Recording > Screencast. After that I was easily able to record and to include my face in a small window (located where I want it) in the video. I'm an educator now being asked to teaching online due to the coronavirus. Thank you to the developers. Feature request. Wish it had the ability for a green screen like Zoom does so you could have different backgrounds when videoing yourself.
