Description

Minim is a not just a script blocker, but so much more! Save your bandwidth, streamline your internet and disable downloading of unnecessary data. Easily configure global block rules, and create exceptions for blocking of images, video, scripts, popups, fonts, svg, style sheets and more. Minim is integrated right into Safari as an extension and built using the latest macOS technologies to be fast, and does not degrade your browsing experience. In fact it enhances your internet, as everything you decide to block is not just hidden (like javascript based blockers) - but is actually blocked from downloading at all. This has the effect of speeding up your browsing by avoiding download of junk data. Why use Minim? Many websites utilize third party tracking scripts, these can be easily blocked with Minim - just disable third party scripts and you have instantly taken back some of your privacy. The next biggest issue is page bloat. Many sites on the internet will download data an order of magnitude larger than the content you are actually viewing. For those of you on slow connections or limited data plans this can severely degrade your browsing experience - even cost you money. Minim Features -Configure global block rules for all domains -Setup Exception domain overrides with fully customizable block options -Optionally configure to only block exception domains -iCloud support for preferences and exception domains -Export/Importing of exceptions for archiving -Notifications -Handy Safari contextual menu options

Still on Nojave as of 2020 January, and this extension works as expected. Thanks!

I was looking for an extension that would allow me to block annoying videos that would automatically play in the background on news sites but I didn’t want to go through the hassle of having to whitelist all the websites where I don’t want videos and images to be blocked. What makes this extension great is that you can choose to use the blacklist feature instead of the whitelist feature by unchecking “Block all sites except those on whitelist” in the preferences of the app. It’s exactly what I’ve needed. I’m running High Sierra so I can’t confirm if this works well on Mojave or Catalina but other than that, this has been useful.
  • worked on High Sierra but doesn't on Mojave
