Description

Quartz is your guide to the global economy. We cover the most important and interesting news, with a focus on how businesses and industries are changing. The main experience of our app is a continually updated news briefing written by our journalists around the world, along with insights from our reporters and members. It's free to read. If you want, we'll also send you notifications throughout the day that keep you informed without being annoying. (They don't even buzz your phone.) Our goal is to help you understand how the world is changing, while respecting your time. You can also become a member of Quartz to add your own insights to our coverage and enjoy member-exclusive coverage throughout the app. Quartz membership requires an additional purchase. • Great content but app a little laggy

Love Quartz for its content. The app is well designed too but deducting two stars for two drawbacks: 1) the app can sometimes feel a little laggy. 2) too many advertisements for a paid subscription.

Quartz is a great way to get actual news without political bias. It’s short and sweet so I get a summary of important events going on in media, politics, business, and anything else that the public should know. The notifications are only important info so they aren’t annoying, and unlike most free apps it’s not riddled with ads. It’s one of my favorite apps now! I would highly recommend it to people who want to be caught up with the latest news but only have a few moments to do so.
  • Paying Subscribers Still Subjected to Ads?

I love Quartz, and this is a pretty dang good QZ media portal of an app. My beef is that, for the not so small subscription prices, I still have to scroll entire screens worth of header and mid block ads on almost every article. Strong dislike.

  • Children are writing this. Too cute

Stick with the NYT. This is too cutesy, too hipster silly-not-witty for me. I don’t trust the news accuracy.
  • Very confusing layout

Some interesting content here, but the layout of the app is very confusing. I often click on notifications for articles that just lead to the home screen of the app. And the search function doesn’t help in finding the article that the app brought to my attention on the lock screen.
  • One less option to read?

I was very sad to get the notice that the app would no longer be available on Android. I am a paying subscriber and my edc is an Android phone. I do have multiple devices so will have to settle on reading on my iPad or Linux laptop for now. But would like to have it in my pocket daily.
  • No more AR

I just redownloaded the app, only to find out no more AR. That's the only reason I use this app. Please fix this.
  • Indispensable

Quartz is always timely, interesting, and relevant. There’s not much you need to be informed about that you can’t find here. Life is richer with Quartz. Oh, did I mention it’s extremely well written as well?
