  • Application needs work

    Commenting on the app specifically, not the VPN connection. There's no split tunnel. App has to remain open in your dock. App interface uses non-standard controls, with weird highlights and padding. There are ads to upsell their $0.99/mo privacy service. Switching from PIA, and this application is not quite to the same level of quality.

    Service works as advertised, and well. But the app is total garbage. There is a chronic memory leak which will slow your system to a crawl and eventually cause OS problems or a warning saying “your system is low on memory.”

    I purchased it, but it has never worked and never been connected. Even worse is that there is no customer service to help.

    I've used Surfshark for a few months and it mostly works well but now whenever I open it on my macbook in just freezes and I can't do anything until I restart my computer

    I am sitting in a Walmart and wanting using their Wifi, but can't because the vpn will not connect using Walmart's wifi. However, using my hotspot which I do not necessarily need the vpn for it works great. A little slower, but it works where I do not need it. I just down loaded and installed. I will see if it works on other wifi with my macbook pro, but for the reason I purchased it, it does not work.

    I'm a foreing student who studied in China about four years. I've used Express VPN about three years. However, it doesnt work well in China. but Surfshark works really well connect to VPN really fast and even cheaper than express vpn. If you plan to use this one in China try to connect to taiwan.

  • Super Good but a speed killer

    I use it daily and will continue to do so however this will absolutely kill you speed. I've from from 600mps to maybe 6 or 7 mps. Wow that's a huge speed killer however it works good and I'm able to have total privacy.

  • Ongoing Software Update and Useability Problems

    Surfshark is great at maintaining a VPN connection. That is, if you can get the software to load, if you can get past the ongoing keychain problems, if it can recognize your password, and you can endure highly complex solutions offered by the help desk to basic issues. Today was another example of how updating the app throws it into complete dissarray, unable to recognize system password, unable to interact properly with the keychain, with very bad pop-up menu sequencing to meet the keychain password requirements. Your experience with Surfshark will go like this: an excellent VPN when and if it allows you to log in, and when and if the software actually will load and work. I was in London earlier this year for example, and really really needed the VPN to work at a cafe. Completely broke down, all the same issues, keychain, login, everything. Help Desk had me installing arcane versions of the software to try and get it to work. No luck. When my subscription is up, I doubt I will return.
