I love this app except there are some features missing so I gravitate to procreate. PLEASE add assisted drawing and warp. If you added those two things, Fresco would beat procreate hands down.
  • Absolutely love it!

10/10 would recommend. Seriously changed what I thought an app was capable of.

I am not new to drawing, but have always admired subtle color blending with watercolor techniques. I was looking for a digital app that truly offered watercolor effects and blends. This is IT!!

I never thought I would like to draw digitally but Adobe Fresco makes it so easy! I have created a logo for our podcast and now I’m importing all my hand drawn artwork to Fresco-ize it! You-tube some tutorials and now it’s hard to cut my screen off and go to bed. I just want to stay up and make art.
  • Works great, recently not so much

The last time I used the live brushes they were working wonderfully, but today they kept glitching. They are behaving properly for the most part, but there are some white spots. The main issue is that they keep depositing colour where I don’t want it. It’s in line with the brush stroke, but I’m barely touching the pencil to the screen and don’t want nearly opaque colour in my washes. It sort of seems like it’s following another drawing on another layer, but there is no other drawing.
  • Great app, quirky UI

I’m still getting used to the way this app works, but consistently find I’ve selected the wrong layer when I hide one, and mean to bed on another. Or, when changing opacity or transfer mode, it just feels clumsy. Hopefully I’ll get used to it over time. There should be a warning when deleting files, I think. Maybe not as heavy handed as procreate’s method, but man, if you don’t mean to delete an image, you get no warning.

I am an Actress, Award Winning Recording Artist, Songwriter, Photographer, Sculpter and Artist, Oil and Watercolor. I used to work with Adobe Creative Suite, Design Stamdard. But my new MacBook Pro, needs upgraded software. I saw and read about Adobe Fresco and got it! I’ll love using this for digital painting. Thanks!
  • New file navigation system is weird ....

Always have to think about how tiny little arrows and folder icons work to move around in your folders and files. It doesn’t quite seem intuitive or easy. Otherwise, the drawing and painting features work great, and the UI for accessing tools seems fairly easy.
  • Great when it works

The tools are insanely glitchy. The live brushes frequently pause and then splatter paint, often in random places on the canvas; the eraser tool is great except it also does random erasing where it causes a perfect circle of erased space and if you don’t catch it in time, there’s no undoing it which could really cause issue when working with full color paintings. The pixel pen skips, a lot. Despite these glitches, the app has immense potential and is almost exactly what I need from a drawing app. As an illustrator, I prefer freehand and Adobe illustrator is nothing but a pain in my head, I have used Clip studio on desk top for the last 5 years and it’s been far superior to Adobe until recently. If Adobe could fix these issues of glitching and skipping pens and brushes that splatter paint or cause gaps in my lines, I could give it a higher rating.
