The future of health research is you! Now you can contribute to groundbreaking health research in women’s health, hearing health or heart health simply by using your Apple Watch and iPhone, and the Research app. Your data and participation will help advance researchers' understanding of these areas in health that have not been well understood until now and could lead to the development of new products that will help millions lead longer and healthier lives. 1. Join the Apple Women’s Health Study, conducted in partnership with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and National Institue of Health Sciences to help advance the understanding of menstrual cycles and health conditions such as infertility, osteoporosis, and menopause. 2. Join the Apple Heart and Movement Study, conducted in partnership with the American Heart Association and Bringham and Women's Hospital to help advance discovery in heart science and to help us learn how activity and your habits can contribute to a healthier heart. 3. Join the Apple Hearing Study, conducted in partnership with the University of Michigan to help advance the understanding of how sound exposure levels over time can impact your hearing, stress levels, and cardiac health. Features: Review available studies, learn about the research partners and the research goals, understand study expectations, and if you are eligible, enroll by providing your consent. Choose which data to share and with what study, and review and manage data collected. Perform relevant tasks for enrolled studies. I really wanted to like this app. I strongly support the idea of sharing the data. Unfortunately it was killing my battery life so I had to delete the app.

Ultra runner/athlete yeah right. He probably works for Garmin.
  • Biased, Marketing strategy for Apple Watch

I’m an ultra runner and want to contribute to the heart and fitness studies. It says you need to record your workouts with an Apple Watch for the studies. Apple watches are activity trackers, not true fitness watches. My Garmin fitness watch is designed for athletes and adventurist (and other brands like Suunto) provide much better data than Apple watches, yet the wording sounds like I cannot contribute my data to the study. Why not let let us sync Strava, Garmin Connect, or another app’s heart data? Minus 1 star for marketing bias. Minus another star for not allowing non-Apple fitness watches to contribute data. Minus another star for no heart rate monitor strap support.
  • Having to complete tasks twice

For the last two times when tasks were available for me to complete, my task completion for the first time was not saved - the tasks showed up as incomplete again after a few hours. This is frustrating.
  • Keeps crashing

I’m enrolled in a couple studies, one of them requiring a hearing test. Every single time I’m running this test the app crashes, erasing all the test progression. Not sure how many more times I will try again before throwing in the towel.
  • No and no

Normally you get paid for your time participating in medical research just like the researchers are getting paid/funded for doing the research. I would suspect that anyone that’s telling you to make a multiple year commitment with no compensation is in support of you being taken advantage of for multiple years. They could at least provide the “supplies” for the participants, ie Apple watches with cellular but, they expect you to commit and pay. #RIDICULOUS
  • Could interact with participants better

I was enrolled in the hearing study, but when it came time to do the hearing test I couldn’t tell when the test had started. I take annual hearing tests due to my work so I know my hearing is pretty good, but I couldn’t hear any noise during the hearing test. I wasn’t even sure the test had actually started. Still not sure....
  • Why only US

Why bother selling Apple products to other countries if you not able to accommodate. Why these studies only available for US citizens. I’ve been using Apple for over 3 years, but you still don’t have means to help us with anything related to Apple. All stores here in South Africa do not have the amount of service or help that I receive in US when servicing a phone or tablet. Please upgrade your services I feel left out.
  • Blood glucose needs more options

The native health app only allows for before meals and after meals options when you have to manually log a glucose reading. There are those of us who check our blood sugars to see where we are during our fasting. The options are inadequate.
  • Great idea
