Description

Alti-Barometer runs on the Apple Watch and iPhone and uses your device’s barometric pressure sensor to detect weather-related barometric pressure changes and to keep track of your altitude. Alti-Barometer can run independently on your iPhone, Apple Watch, or in combination. It supports all Watch complication styles as well as iOS 14 widgets. The app will display a continuous 24-hour log of altitude and barometric pressure, and allows you to graphically explore the collected data. It's a fun and informative way to stay connected to the natural world around you. (For Apple Watch Series 3 and higher, or iPhone version 6 or higher)

  • Great app for skiing and just walking around

I first downloaded this app from my NYC office and just played with it going up and down city elevators. Just recently I finally got to use the app while skiing. I love being able to track my change in altitude as i go up the chairlifts and down the slopes at different rates. While my other cellular enabled app cut out when I ventured out of reach of cell towers this app kept going. I didn’t get a storm alert while on the mountain but it’s comforting to know that I would be alerted about incoming storms even when out of cell range. This app will come in handy in the summer as our family enjoys hiking and camping far away from cell service.
  • Works great when you’re off the grid (no phone needed)

Went camping and wore my Apple Watch with this app on it. Even though we had no cell service, the app alerted me with the “storm alarm” feature that the weather was rapidly changing. We headed back to the cabin just in time to miss a deluge of rain! Altimeter is cool to watch your ascent/descent when flying. A fun app to play around with that works very well!
