Description

In an alternate reality in 1920s Europa, it's been several years since the ""Great War"", but the ashes of the conflict are still hot and the war is entering a new phase. The first conflict saw the emergence of some incredible engines of war known as Mechs. Built by ""The Factory"", an independent city-state which has since become the object of everyone's desire, these technological monstrosities roam the snowy landscapes of Europa. Be the hero of one of the five factions – Saxony Empire, Crimean Khanate, Rusviet Union, Polania Republic or Nordic Kingdom – and become the richest and most powerful nation in all of Europa during these dark times! To assure the victory of your people, you will need to explore and conquer new territories, enlist new recruits and deploy your forces by building formidable and terrifying combat Mechs. Replay history in a fictional past full of mechanical engines and technology, where each choice you make will be critical. Choose your battles with care, because in Scythe, victory is achieved with and for the people! Gameplay: - Asymmetry: every player starts the game with different resources (energy, coins, keen combat sense, popularity…), a different starting location and a secret objective. The starting positions are specifically set to contribute to the uniqueness of every faction and the asymmetrical nature of the game. - Strategy: Scythe offers players almost complete control over their fate. The only elements of chance apart from each player's individual secrete objective card are the Encounter cards, which players draw to interact with the citizens of newly explored lands. Combat is also handled by way of choice; no luck or chance is involved. - Engine Building: Players can improve their construction abilities to become more efficient, build structures that improve their position on the map, enlist new recruits into their faction, activate mechs to dissuade opponents from invading and expand their borders to reap greater types and quantities of resources. This aspect creates a feeling of energy and progression over the course of the entire game. The order in which players get to develop their economy and technologies adds to the unique feel of every game, even when playing as the same faction several times. Features: • Official adaptation of the award-winning board game • 4X strategy game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit and eXterminate) • Customize the mat to sharpen your strategy • Choose a specialty for unique games: Agriculturalist, Industrialist, Engineer, Patriot or Mechanic. • Fight alone against an AI, face your friends in Hotseat or face opponents from all over the world in Online Mode • Check out artistic genius Jakub Rozalski's retro-futuristic illustrations! Please note that Scythe: Digital Edition app requires a device with a minimum of 2GB Ram

  • Another Asmodee Game

Another series of bugs and notifications. How many attempts at game notifications does it take to get it right?
  • Increased Difficulty Setting and Expansions

I love the game, but the more I play it, the easier I find the AI to beat. This is on the highest difficulty setting already. I’m not incredibly good or anything. I just think the highest setting for the AI could use some improvement. Besides that the game is great! Really hoping for the Invaders from Afar expansion at some point.
  • Amazing - IFA??

I love this game, and I think the LoU guys did a fine job with this implementation! I’d love for some more UX enhancements that make it a little easier to access game information, particularly modals or slide outs that can be toggled, or perhaps a small icon-based hud when an entity or icon is tapped. Most importantly, I’m hoping we can get Invaders from Afar for this platform - being able to practice Albion or Togawa on the go would be incredibly helpful for my game!!

This was release so far after the steam version of the game I would have expected they fix some of the bugs by now.... only easy ai is silly, not being able to look at your action mat, not being able to skip all animation, the upgrade system and much more is all junk.... moreover there is a big rule exploit that happens if you are saxony, their mechs aren’t supposed to move to uncontrolled mountains....but the game allows it

Love the board game and the digital adaptation is everything I wanted it to be.
  • Please add an undo button for movement in online play

More then a few times now I’ve accidentally hit a hex during movement and I can’t undo it. Would be a great app if movement wasn’t so janky! Fix it nerds!!!
  • Impressive but weak AI

The production values and UI are great and playing solo play runs smoothly, even on a phone! My biggest complaint is that the AI seems too easy. I’ve played physical scythe less than 10 times (a couple years ago), and I never studied or prepped any strategies or know any opening combos. I have now played 1 on 1 against the hard AI 3 times and easily won by a large margin each time. My last victory was 49-18! I also find undo a little clunky, but that’s not a big deal. I’m not interested in multi-player, so I’m not sure I’ll get many more plays out of this without AI improvements.

One of my favorite board games. App needs work. Having to be online just to set up asynchronous game is not ideal. I haven’t found a way to activate the “undo” button during a multiplayer game. And there is a hack I’ve found that pretty much breaks combat. When combat is decided, before you click the “accept” button to resolve the fight, just exit the app. Reload, and enter the game again. App will start combat back from the beginning...after you have already been shown your opponents combat strength used for the fight. I’ve done it twice. I’m not certain it will work every time, but it needs to be addressed.
  • Please add tutorial play thru

Picked this game as it’s not my normal board game style and am very pleased. I appreciate the game reminders as I find myself about to skip certain turn aspects. I will print out game instructions to reference but it would be great if the developers could add a tutorial to play thru. The how to play is great but for me the interaction of a play thru is needed. Great game and APP!
