Description

Watchsmith lets you personalize your Apple Watch like never before. It starts with a wide collection of highly customizable complications, which range in function from date, to weather, to astronomy. Each can be adjusted precisely to best fit your desired function and appearance. This set of complications can then be dynamically scheduled to appear on your watch face following rules you define. For example, a particular complication slot could show the weather first thing in the morning, then your calendar during your work day, then switch to your Activity ring progress as you wrap up your day. This lets you take full advantage of each slot on your watch face without the need to constantly switch back and forth between faces. The Apple Watch app itself also includes a wide collection of tools and functions, such as a weather app, a workout app, a timezone converter, games and a calendar. Watchsmith provides one tap access to what you need, right when you need it. Notes: • Watchsmith is intended for use with a paired Apple Watch, which is where your configured complications will be displayed. It requires watchOS 6. • Watchsmith optionally integrates with Apple Health. This data is used during workouts to display your workout metrics, to show a summary of your daily heart rate date, and your activity. Permission for Watchsmith to access this data is controlled through the Apple Health app. • Watchsmith includes an optional premium subscription. This is offered on a monthly or annual basis. If you choose to purchase a subscription your payment will be charged to your iTunes account. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless canceled within 24-hours before the end of the current period. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase. • Access to Tide and Weather hosted data is only available to Watchsmith Premium subscribers. I was hesitant to purchase a premium subscription for this app, but am so glad that I did. The weather complication where I can see more than one day’s data is worth it alone. It’s more informative than what is offered by Apple. Also, the ability to schedule when the complications appear throughout the day is wonderful. In addition you can click on a complication and get more information rather than go into my list of apps. I am excited to see what the developers are able to add to this in the future.
  • Great app, needs more widgets

Amazing concept and works flawlessly. The only thing the app needs is more complications because the ones they have at the moment are pretty much the same ones as Apple has, just looks a little different.
  • Nice try, rip off though

It’s a good first attempt. Not nearly good enough to charge premium yet and will NEVER be good enough for a subscription model. What a joke.

    Bad update!
  • Could be great but needs both work and responsive support

Gotta bang the 3 stars down to 2. I want to love this, but it doesn’t work, and the dev does not respond to support inquiries. —- 9/29 The concept is good and highly appealing. Unfortunately, for now, the execution is lacking. The only way I’m able to get these complications to update according to the time of day is to delete the app from the watch and redownload it. That’s not how it’s supposed to work. If the developer is able to work out this bug, I’d give it 5 stars, but for now, I’m on the verge of deleting and not reinstalling. 3 stars for the attempt at greatness. :-)

Does not sync Widgetsmith subscription.... only the other way around.... does not answer support requests
  • Have to add way more features for $2/month

I really don’t need complications to change at different times. I just add all the ones I need. Wish I can just add my own text as a complication. Cool that I can customize layouts, font, & colors. But $2/month for that? Not worth it for me. And if complications at different times becomes popular, I’m sure Apple will just add it in the future.
  • Great idea, but bugs

Started off great but lots of bugs in watchOS 7 and above. Maybe it’s an apple issue, but complications are unpredictable in updating. Hope these bugs are squashed!
