Description

The essential Pantone Color iOS app for designers and color experts! Pantone Connect streamlines the color inspiration to design process, making it easy for you to measure and match physical materials to Pantone Color, share your inspirational color palettes to social media, and navigate any updated Pantone Color System to find the perfect hue while on the go. When paired with the Color Match Card from Pantone, the app calibrates your iOS device's camera for color measurement, and captured colors are quickly matched to their nearest Pantone Color more accurately than extracting color from a photo. Be sure to check that your iOS device is compatible with Color Match Card before you order one. While most device models are compatible, we are still in the process of adding some iOS devices to our list. The app is part of the new Pantone Connect digital color platform for mobile, web, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Extension), meaning colors discovered while on the go can be easily applied to design files when you're back in your studio. The following features will remain free for everyone on mobile and web: - All Pantone Colors, always up to date - sRGB and Hex values for all colors - Measurement with the Pantone Color Match Card - Color extraction from images - Palette+image sharing to social media - Color library search, navigation, sorting, and filtering - Pantone system cross referencing (X-Ref) - Trending color palettes from Pantone Premium features for mobile and tablet are also currently free to use, and will include: - CMYK and L*a*b* values for all colors - Convert to Pantone from sRGB, Hex, L*a*b*, and CMYK values - Saving more than 1 palettes and team palette collaboration - Nuance color to nearby hues - Color harmonies Accounts: Currently, Pantone Connect is completely free to use, including all Premium features, while we actively develop and improve this platform. Free accounts can be created in-app. Premium accounts can be activated on Pantone's website. Other Pantone App Compatibility: Pantone Connect accounts do not work with the Pantone Studio for iOS app or vice versa, and users who pay for Pantone Studio access will not receive access to Pantone Connect. Update: Thanks developer for the fast response, I hope to be able to use your app any day now. Unfortunately it’s not compatible with the latest iPhones 6 weeks after release date. Also, my $15 card arrived bend :/ I wish I could recommend this app, unfortunately that’s still no the case.

Liking the navigation and design of the app—easy to use and toggle between the different formula guides. Super convenient!

Surprisingly accurate and works great on my iphone, and I just figured out how to measure right into Illustrator! Still exploring the rest of the app but the navigation is easy and there is a ton of color packed in here.

45 minutes later and not an image to show for it. How is this possible? This doesn’t count the amount of time for me to figure out which app I needed. I’m pretty sure every single user will need to download the proper app and every single user will have their first experience be frustrating. Not worth the paper it’s printed on and not worth the time and effort I have spent. I’m extremely disappointed in a company that wants the color standard to be in their hands and puts out an app that pretty much any quality 8th grader could do better. Please fix the some things- here is a checklist for you. 1. QR code at the very least takes you to a download the app page. 2. For gods sake let me take a picture and then use your app to figure things out. Don’t make me hover for 5 minutes. 3. That’s it, that’s all we ask from the “Gold” standard of color.

Ok, so I bought the card ($15) and paid overnight ship charges. Got the app four days later! Opened it today to test against my Pantone Connect phone app. I cannot begin to explain how absolutely frustrating this app is. I spent about five minutes trying to get the card to register a color fabric that I had laid out on the table. Tilting the card to the right to align it as per your instructions did not work. When I did get it to work I heard the camera take a picture but the image is nowhere to be found. It is not in the Pantone Connect app, it is not in my photo library. I see that you have extended the free app out until September but honestly if you don’t fix these bugs you’re not going to have a lot of business on this. It’s certainly not going to be worth $30 a year. I can honestly say that this $15 card is useless. I could go on, in fact I’ll go on a little bit more, the QR code on the back of the card goes to a QR Reader that opens up a separate window and Pantone. This does not connect the card to the app on iPhone. The instructions when the QR Reader opens are in tiny font at the bottom of the window. The very first step says to navigate to the get button. There is no get button in the Pantone app. I was completely on my own trying to navigate and figure out how to get my card to pair with the app. All right I got to go.
  • Can’t login

I created an account in the app successfully, but can’t login. No matter what I do the ‘login’ button doesn’t work. There’s no feedback, no error message, nothing. Sad considering nearly all the app does it tied to a login.
  • Pantone doesn’t play well in the mobile world

Kind of tired of being promised wonderful things and never receiving them when it comes to the mobile environment. I was shocked the app was free and the card was only $15, only to realize Pantone is going to charge you $29 a year for the privilege of using an app that works poorly. I could see if they are no longer going to make the chips but they charge you an immense amount of money for a fan wheel of paper and now they’re going to charge you to use an app that works poorly. What do they spend all their money on? Certainly not app and software development. They need to go to Apple or an equivalent superior app developer to get it working correctly.

I came here with high hopes. I am speechless. A company such as Pantone should have solid mobile offering. Not this time around. 😞
