This app is impressive in its ability to separate out vocals, drums and harmony instruments. It works very well, though there are some artifacts and phasy-ness. But that it can do as well as it does - and far better than other vocal removers I've tried - is incredible. I can see it being really useful for those who are learning songs and want to hear individual parts more clearly, or vocalists who want to practice with a backing track only. The looper and slow-down functions are a great addition. It does nag you to pay $50 for it - which doesn't seem like a bad deal for what it does.

This application is really well made. The interface is great. Unfortunately, the underlying tech isn't as good as some free alternatives It will split each song into Vocals, Instruments, and Drums. It has a lot of bleed between the different splits and I can't see any way to fine tune it. Some websites exist that will do this with more accuracy for free Hope they fix this issues. It's definitely not worth the price at $50

Wow I'm pretty amazed at how easy to use and snappy this is. I've been going through hundreds of my tracks isolating different channels just to hear the breakdown of the song structure. I knew phase cancellation was possible for edits and remixes but I figured it was a laborious process and never tried it myself. Now I don't even have to learn it because this does it for me. I'm already making slowed down disco versions of some of my favorite songs that don't really fit into my DJ sets. THANKS!!
  • Interesting and I hope it improves

If you're expecting miracles, you're bound to be disapointed, as this app is trying to unmix tracks. I'm actually stunned it works as well as it does. That said, the results are... well... just ok. If you try and isolate any singular source (vocals, harmoic or drums) the artifacting becomes supremely prounounced. Some results are good enough for sampling, remixing or karaoke. Quality will vary based on source material. It's never perfect so do not expect that. This is a tool useful for deconstruction for many uses, be it for remixers, drummers, karaoke and generally acceptable for these things. That said, the UI is strangely laggy. For extremely large libaries, the UI chugs along slowly, waiting just to dispaly song lists on scroll feels absurd. Esepcially when you consider the wide variety of applications that can perform this task much faster. At first I suspected the album artwork, caching was causing issues but disabling it didn't help. Even horrible electron apps are able to do display info better. My guess is its the EyeTunes.framework, which seems all kinds of jenky. It even irks me more that I have a very old copy of Djay from 2014 by Algoriddim and it's zippy. Then the search results. are baffling, as they show up in a sidebar. Why? Who wants this? What kind of UX antipattern is this? Also clicking on tracks scrubbing sometime scan be somewhat unresponsive. You can scrub with record scratch fx but to what end? If its not a DJ app why can't I just scrub like a 90s audio app? Scrolling through lists of songs and searching them shouldn't be a chore More than anything the UI needs to be addresed and hopefully the algorithm will improve for results. I spent $50 as this is the only game in town. Not even Melodyne serves up a feature like this but it feels like a beta with its lack of polish in the UI.
