  • Lost several years of bookmarks!!!

Somehow 5 years worth of bookmarks disappeared. The folders I organized them into are still there, but all the content is gone.

Such a buggy app still. Not uncommon to come back to reading an article and have a blank screen. Go back to the article list and re-select the article only to have lost one’s place. Sharing articles doesn’t pull the article title unless you are in browser view. Reporting sites that don’t work never results in any improvement, even if they are important news sites that have been broken for years. Items can either be in folders or archived, so folders are useless for finding read articles. Such a shame that the owners don’t seem to care about sweating the details.
  • Instapaper share button gone

Instapaper is such a huge part of my reading life and I wouldn’t be able to live without it. In the past few weeks the button to save things when you go to share in Safari is missing and it’s driving me nuts. I restarted my iPhone - it was back! I used it to save an article and then it promptly disappeared when I went to save something else. Please fix this!!!

...App for Mac OS does not work on Mac OS. Maybe it's for Windows?
  • Cannot highlight

Why is it that it's impossible to make highlights only on the Mac app??? This is a CORE feature of Instapaper.

Happy to have this, but as it downloads images or as you file items, the main feed constantly jumps around and doesn't hold your place. This makes it almost impossible to process your feeed in the app. I have to use the web app instead ... UPDATE: What happened? Suddenly the ability to add highlights has been removed from the app? Terrible!
  • One of my most useful and elegant apps

Absolutely one of the most simple yet well executed apps. Timeless design and generally works very well if your main goal is saving articles or blogs.
  • It was a great app

I used to love this app. The ability to grab articles and send them directly to my reading list was a godsend. I receive so many newsletters that it’s the only way I could read everything I wanted to read. Then something happened. It happened around the time of the latest update of Instapaper. It seems as though Instapaper is no longer available for sharing using Safari on iOS and iPadOS devices. My contact with Instapaper support took nearly 2 weeks for a reply and the solution was to reboot the device because this seems to sort things out. Their solution also seem to lay the blame everywhere but their software. I have provided them with additional information through the support email. Here’s hoping they read it. I will happily update my review if and when this issue is resolved. In the meantime I feel I should just cancel my subscription.
  • A suggestion: Smart Folder Icons

I’ll start by saying this is a 5 star app - I’ve chosen 4 just to get the developer’s attention so they read this. I think it’d be nice in the column of custom folders if there was a visual distinction indicating whether or not any unread articles are in that folder at present. You could keep this feature reserved to just the default folder symbol: if there were no articles left in the folder, it’d look like it does now. If there were unread articles in the folder, the folder symbol could show a couple pieces of fake paper in the folder, or be “filled in” with color somehow. If people use other icons for each folder then they’d be out of luck. But I think it’d be really nice to know just at a glance if you’ve already cleared a folder of unread content. At least one of the folder icons should or could be “smart.”
  • ePub and PDF support, please

Please, please, please add the ability to add ePub and PDF documents to Instapaper and use text-to-speech on them. Speechify doesn’t have a watch app, and the prices are steep (and their formatting of ePub texts isn’t great). Instapaper could really do this correctly. Thank you!
