I’m not the best at solving Thursday’s or Saturday’s puzzles but I’m filling in more of the grid as time goes on! Thank you to all the creators!

If there are in app purchases it should be marked as such, not give you a stupid seven day “trial” (as if this is some great gift) before trying to milk you for a subscription. Christ, everything is outfitted with some moronic paywall. Deleted and one star. F U.

Why do I punish myself, meandering aimlessly through Jewish months, Iranian coins, Italian volcanos, French rivers, African capitols, Norwegian kings, and American pastimes? The dreaded rebus, the scores of opera characters, too, too clever puns, and Friday Night Blights? Because few things can provide the well-earned endorphin rush of a week-streak, or a personal best.

I can rely on my daily NYT crossword to keep me on my toes with regard to modern linguistics, offer subtle humor, and keep my mind sharp. One of my healthiest addictions!
  • Answers don’t add up

Today’s crossword did not add up- abbreviations did not follow true clues and upon checking them, the words didn’t match. Very frustrating.

As addictions go, not such a bad one, eh? My husband marvels at how many Jeopardy answers I know as a result of having learned info via doing crosswords. It’s certainly good mental exercise.

Love the crossword and the spelling bee. And great—I have access to the other games through a web browser... but why can’t they be on the app??? Seems obvious. Please take this feedback straight to the top!! Tell Mark Thompson, he will agree!!
  • Great—with one small exception.

I love the app and use it all the time. The UI is easy to use and smooth, and being able to browse (and download) past puzzles means I never lack for activities. The one thing that keeps this app from a five-star review, for me, is that I use a hardware keyboard with my iPad, and there’s a bug that’s persisted in this app for several years now. When you type a repeated letter (for example to solve a clue with the word “book”), the second letter is not entered into the puzzle. The keystroke is just dropped somehow. You have to wait probably a good ½ second before you type the same letter again. This only happens with a hardware keyboard (in my case, the smart folio), not the software one. It’s a small issue in the scheme of things, but it’s just annoying enough that I can’t give a full five stars—especially since the bug has existed for so long. Hope the dev team will consider digging into this, even though it’s probably not a quick one to solve.
