  • Best list sharing app I’ve found

This is the best app I’ve found for sharing lists with another person. I love the sortable categories you can create; I’ve created one for each aisle in our grocery store so we always see our list in the correct order.

It’s a good app but I wish you could specify quantity, ie. 2 onions, 5 avocados, etc

After paying 9.99 to have access to the barcode scanner, I have found that the items that come up with a scan are nowhere close to the item needed. I feel as if it was a waste of money.
  • Just a list

I the app I used to use was great but now only works on android. This app does nothing but allow you to type in a list you could use the Note function just as easily. Very disappointed. Not integrated with any data base that slows you to search your product or save frequently purchased items.

I don’t usually put down the reviews for abs because I don’t have a lot of apps that I can brag about.I needed to write a review for this app because I have been looking for a shopping list app that I was satisfied with. They were confusing and didn’t give me the options that I really needed. Over the years, I have probably downloaded 20 grocery list apps and deleted ALL of them. I heard about “Our Groceries.” I wasn’t expecting a lot, and when I opened the app I could see it was so easy to use. I don’t like having a lot of apps for different subjects so I have added folders for other things other than just groceries like ☎️ calls to make now ☎️ calls to make soon 🎄 Holiday Gifts
  • A practical solution

A very useful app, especially since it is easy to categorize your shopping list, including customized lists (like store aisles). The feature we like best is that you can simply click on an item from an old list to move it back to the active list you are building. A suggestion for improvement would be to display the old items in some recognizable pattern—such as alphabetically or by assigned category instead of randomly. Once you have a long list of old items it becomes difficult to find what you are looking for, and the usefulness of this feature rapidly diminishes.

Note: After writing my review I promptly heard back from the developer who addressed my issue and directed me to Settings where I found the fix. Great response and now that I see what to do I’m really happy with the app - 5 Stars!! I’d love to rate this higher but I find the app irritating. It would be nice to be able to add multiple items to either the shopping list or the grocery list but instead you have to add one by one. And once you’ve checked off an item on the list it has to be re-entered. Come on now, you can do better than this!
  • Close to MyShopi

I had a grocery list app for years called MyShopi that was the absolute best app I had found for preparing and shopping with a grocery list. I used that app for years before the company removed it from the US App Store and moved to only being in the Netherlands and France. I have been looking for something close to that functionality and finally got the closest with OurGroceries. I haven’t upgraded to premium yet but one difference is that MyShopi allowed internet uploaded photos by default. Not sure on the premium options but I hope it allows me to search the Internet to add photos of grocery items rather that taking them myself. There are two enhancements that I would love to see to improve my OurGroceries experience. The first is multi-select from the master list. With MyShopi it was a breeze to create my shopping list. I would browse through my saved items by categories and tap away as I remembered things I needed to buy. OurGroceries does allow me to categorize my master list and select items from it but it only allows one at a time and takes me into the Shopping list after every selection, forcing me to click back into the master list to continue building the list for my shopping trip. It’s a pretty inefficient way to sit down and build a shopping list. Also, I would love the ability to add short notes that will display below the item in my shopping list. OurGroceries has a “Notes” section but those are in a separate area and not tied to grocery list items. With notes that display on the shopping list, I could remind myself or my husband of customizations to list items without having to add whole new list items. Some OurGroceries features are better than my one true love MyShopi. I love the Amazon Alexa integration and adding items as I run out of them in my kitchen. The skills options make it so easy to be able to do what I want using Alexa. I also like the ability to customize my own categories and order them my own way. This makes it so much easier to make my list match the layout of my grocery store. I also love the customization on how to cross items off my list. I chose a long press and it really helps prevent accidentally crossing off shopping list items. Thanks to the developers for a simple, easy to use product. With just a few more updates, I won’t be tempted to learn French just to get MyShopi back!
