On iPad, it does not show origin of words. Does appear in iPhone version (a different app!), but not iPad version (this app)

I’m undecided if I should buy this or not. I’ve been using this for a few weeks. I’ve notice that all of the words that have synonyms don’t show up on this app. Why is that? And is there a way you can buy the app once and get all the additional things that’s added on it? I see where it says upgrade for individual things that the app features.

I bought the full version with no ads in 2017. Then the purchase disappeared. I didn’t feel like fussing over $6, so I bought it again a year later. Now I open the app and I can’t restore purchases. I have both of my receipts and a screen recording of the restore purchase feature not working and the help center button being a prop. The “help center” button in settings is literally just a picture that does nothing when you click on it. How can Apple let these kinds of apps through to the App Store??? How does this have 4.4 stars? Do people not give the app any real usage before reviewing??

Interesting addition to basic dictionary, but, PLEASE add paragraphs to these articles. They are extremely hard to read as one huge paragraph. A dictionary app should definitely be constructed in a way to make reading simpler not off-putting to lessen the chance they would be read. They are a really good addition if you can slog through reading them.

The app is great. I like how you can swap between dictionary and thesaurus. Sometimes, the app crashes tho.
  • Dark mode?

I really love this app. I have been using it for both my iPad and iPhone for a long time now. Any chance for a dark mode (or am I blind and can’t find the setting?)

  • Horrific advertisement videos

Here I am looking up a word and I’m interrupted by a loud, horrifically annoying video ad that runs for 5 seconds and I have to quit out. Then I immediately delete the app. Why doesn’t Apple include a stock dictionary for iOS like they do for MacOS?
  • Landscape view for iPad? Please‽

I’m looking for an improved dictionary app for my iPad, and downloaded this app, as it was featured by the App Store as an iPad dictionary, however it is only usable in portrait view. This small limit of function, unfortunately, makes the whole app useless to me on my iPad, which i use with a laptop case attachment at my desk, so rotating to landscape is really inconvenient when I’m back & forth between apps working. Let me know if the app is updated and improved for ipad usage and i may just come back for all the other features offered in the app.
  • It’s a great app but... the ads.

I use this app a lot when I do school work and when I don’t know a word I go here and look it up. The only thing I don’t like about it is the ads. When I’m trying to find a definition of a word I see this weird ad and I get distracted. I know you have to pay to remove ads but it should be free to everyone. Although it’s a great though. :)
