  • Absolutely the worst newspaper app

Even with a paid subscription this “app” (it’s really just a link to a web site) requires entry of username and password every time. It Also requires “I’m not a robot” image matching 2-3 times a week. Once credentials are accepted the user interface is just awful. There are never-ending bugs and glitches that make for a frustrating experience. Although the function seems to exist, I’ve not yet been able to download the entire “paper” to read offline. On a positive note, there is so little original content that it doesn’t take too much time to deal with the quirky interface.

If I could leave no stars, I would absolutely do so. This app is horrible. When I read my newspaper and I accidentally pressed one of the ads I am unable to get it off of my screen. I have to shut down my whole tablet just to get the newspaper back up. It’s impossible to get back to the newspaper to read it. The ad has no close button. Terrible. Very inconvenient. This app needs to be reworked. Too many glitches.

I cannot get the Extra section that I loved it. I have been a subscriber for decades; but, I intend to cancel my subscription as soon as possible. Benny Fernandez

It should be simple to search for information but they make it difficult. They offer very limited information. I don’t need to work this hard to get my local news. Trying Sun Sentinel next. Unfortunately The Herald will not survive if they waste their customers’ time like this. Too bad for the employees except for the ones who make decisions to offer this crappy product!
  • You ruined the app!

It was pretty bad before, but now it’s just another news site, since I don’t have my daily newspaper. I guess it’s time to do away with the Herald since the news are available in social media for free.
  • Getting worse

The loud, intrusive audio commercials (mostly political these days) can not be muted or even stopped on my iPad. Clicking on the “X” to exit the commercial has no effect. Who designed this mess?

  • It would be nice it would be niceeee

It would be nice if you clicked on a Herald article in a link or even an email they incessantly send you and you could actually link straight to the article in the app instead of being asked to subscribe or log in. Wall Street Journal has this ability. Herald gave up caring about readers long ago thoug so kind of makes sense.... oh well.... Drudge it is....
  • Frustrating at best!

As a long time subscriber both print and edition, I have never had an easy time with the online access. I truly believe in and want to support journalism, but The Herald is making me rethink how I can gain knowledge locally. UGH!! Beyond archaic!
  • Glitchy And too many video ads

App freezes. It’s glitchy. Headlines are click bait and should be written more like the Wall Street journal where it just gives the info raw and not so you click on it. App is hard to use. The developers should look at the Wall Street journal and imitate what they do. Hope this helps. If these things are fixed I will update my review to 5 stars as the info is good.
