This is the slowest and goofy app ever
  • Worst Digital News App Ever

I subscribe to 6 digital newspapers and the Bee’s is by far the worst. The app repeats the same articles for days. Headlines are often misleading or incorrect. News and opinion are not properly distinguished. Connection to the server are the slowest I’ve experienced. Page replicas are slow to load and initially blurry on my iPad. Perhaps the new owners will try and fix it but I’m not optimistic.
  • Constantly asked for passwords from users already signed in

Refused access to articles by subscribers already signed in. Log in refused when trying to sign in. May only apply to phone app, but it makes the app useless Sac bee requires two separate user accounts- one for use and one for subscriptions. This makes subscriptions via pc extremely hard too.

  • Frustrating

About once a week, the e-edition does not work properly. I prefer the paper layout, especially to do the crossword puzzles where I can screenshot the puzzle on the iPad and use the pen to fill in the answers. I also can’t download the e-edition to take on my iPad when I’m on the go. Very frustrating.
  • Fair but could be better

Very annoying that I am a paid subscriber and still inundated with ads on your app. So many ads that it makes the reading experience on an iPhone annoying.
  • Where is the search function?

Where is the search function? That seems really ridiculous to not have search functionality for end users. Fix that please.
  • Add an easy to find search button.

I work in state government and see first hand how often this paper gets the facts wrong on purpose. When you know the real story first hand and then you read what these guys write about it, you know the fix is in. It has to be on purpose because they never make a mistake that makes the left look bad, only the right. They recently announced they will be paying their “journalists” based on the number of clicks their stories get. Wow! That won’t encourage misleading or untrue inflammatory headlines and stories now will it? Their parent company filed for bankruptcy for a reason. Defeat this app!
  • Uses facebook comments

First off I support actual journalism but the problem with the app is that it’s running Facebook comments, so it’s hard to say what exact data it’s sending to Facebook. Facebook has no problems selling your data to the highest bidder, It also runs in the background on all android phones and cannot be disabled. It even goes as far to keep track of messages that you may have never even sent and deleted. It was involved in the Cambridge analytics scandal and completely lied about it to Congress and the Senate. So I don’t really see why the Sacramento bee which is an actual paper would use Facebook comments as it’s the complete downfall of actual journalism but yet here we are.
