  • Really disappointing

I have the NFL Game Pass. Why aren’t there DVR like controls? Every time you want to fast forward or rewind there’s a lag and then the app eventually crashes. In the 3rd quarter and the app has already crashed 6 times.

This is an extremely poorly designed app. Start up is buggy. Load times for content is unacceptably long, and watching games with Game Pass is a roll of the device. I have literally waited for 20 minutes to see if an available game would start. The routine usually involves starting, closing and starting the app, then the game repeatedly until it finally begins to play. But if I want to see my out of market team, there’s no other option and they know it!

NFL.com site says to watch Jets game on NFL app. App shows game is not available to watch.
  • Annoying Notifications

I’d like notifications for my favorite teams and that’s IT! However, even though I have all notifications turned off for EVERYTHING else I still get notified about every other starting games and scores for teams I have no interest in. Super annoying. I’ll just turn off all notifications.

  • Doesn’t work on Sundays

This app is great for watching prior games — with one huge exception. The NFL advertised that you can use Game Pass to watch a game as soon as its over. Forget about it. I wanted to watch out of town games that weren’t broadcast locally. You’re supposed to be able to do that with Game Pass as soon as the game is over. I initially tried casting the games from my iPhone. It kind of worked, but there are a lot of problems. The game would freeze, or it wouldn’t download. And when it does work, the controls are very rudimentary. And if your phone screen autolocks while you are watching, or you need to stop watching and for a bit to come back to the game, you have to restart the entire process. The site doesn’t remember where you left off. I figured I would try something else, so I went out and got a Google Chromecast, only to find out that NFL Game Pass doesn’t work with Chromecast. So I trudged back to Micro Center and got a Roku as well. I found that Roku works really well with NFL Game Pass — as long as you aren’t using it to watch on Sundays, right after the games are played. On Sundays, you get error messages when you try and download the games, or the site downloads the wrong games. I’m not going into detail here, but it’s really awful. I finally had to go back to using my iPhone, which at least allowed me to see the games same day. The only thing I can figure is that the website is not robust enough to handle the amount of traffic it gets on Sundays. As I mentioned earlier, Roku works great with Game Pass every other day of the week. One other note: customer service for NFL Game Pass is abysmal. They have no phone number. All you can do is email, and since they are closed on Sundays, they don’t get back to you until Monday. Having a problem with the site on Sunday? You better hope someone else can help, because the customer service people at NFL Game Pass are kicking up their feet when most of the games are being played. And even after I sent a long email describing the problem, they sent me back a pre-written reply that in no way addressed the issue. Bottom line: if you want to watch out of town games on the day they are being played, don’t try to do it on the cheap like I did. Cough up the $300 to get DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket instead of Game Pass.

NFL app is horrible I get different errors on all versions ios, roku, & android. Constantly gives away the game with recaps of who one even though you set to hide the scores. -1 if I could.
  • Can’t stand this app

I PAY for game pass but you can’t watch til the games are over so I spend all day trying to avoid finding out the score. Then it’s unreliable and the load time is forever. And it’s hard to find things like the schedule of upcoming games. Just generally so annoying.
  • How?

How does this app have nearly 5 stars? Going through the reviews it’s hard to see one higher than 3 stars. How is this the only sports app that still doesn’t offer Picture in Picture? NBA offers it, NHL offers it, even MLB offers it. Does the nfl? Nope! God forbid you leave the app expecting video to continue
