  • Highlight not working, read aloud not working

    Highlighter is not working which is the most essential part in reading important books it works finds in android but not in this Apple so please make sure you get highlighter which is most pleasant not mild very mild in this colour is not that much attractive as a writer and also make regular read aloud possible it’s reads only one page per time

  • Can’t purchase books in an app for books

    I’ve had a love-hate relationship with Google Books over the years. I used it some years ago for school, but quickly switched to Books when I got my first iPad. A few months ago I went back to this app to purchase a book in another language. I love that there’s a specific button for translation, but that’s about it. Sometimes notes show up, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they move. And, being in the margin, they’re difficult to retrieve without turning the page, if it opens at all. Also. I don’t know what happened between when I purchased the book (summer 2020) and now (winter 2020), but now purchasing books in the app is disabled. The prices aren’t even listed. I’ve noticed that the Google/Android model involves needing different apps for functions that could be done by one app, but not being able to purchase books in an app designed for reading books seems overwhelmingly defeatist.

    This app is a mission to use. I’m never buying a book through google again. I did not know I couldn’t download the book and when I use it on my phone it iPad it is extreme difficult to highlight anything

    Doesnt recognize all my google accounts and let me change between them simple enough. To access one of my accounts i have to uninstall the app and reinstall it just to have to option to select my account.

    I use this app on my samsung phone as well and syncing is no issue between my phone and iPad. But if you want to purchase Books Though your iPad, you get a notification to visit the Google play website. I just buy the Books Though my Samsung phone vía the Google play App.

  • Buggy, limited and slow

    I am used to kindle which is pretty slick, much better than this App. I like to highlight, it’s my thing and it is so freaking buggy, sometimes you highlight and it doesn’t show up, looks like it didn’t take and then you flip forward and back a page and it’s there. I can’t figure out how to highlight across pages or remove a highlight and that should be obvious. He 3D page animation is lame, turned it off. Copy paste super slow as is adding notes. I should have the book on Amazon or other retailer, I should have known better than to think a tech company would now how to make an actual app.

    This reader is slow, can’t even use the pen to mark up in a fast way. Was this app created in DOS? Maybe if your are just reading, might work for you but, if you are studying from a text, this is app is not even worth to download. Can’t use the pen in a fast way to mark up, you have to select the text you want to mark up, then use a reduced pallet of colors, can’t even unmark , can’t use the electronic reader, etc. Use Apple Books, for the best app to read, mark up books, etc.
