Signed up and paid in advance for a one year subscription and at the end of the seventh month, was billed for “past due” payments. On calling customer service, was told I’d “automatically” signed up for a “premium account” which meant they’d send me premium issues and those would be deducted from my annual subscription. I never asked for nor received any “premium” products to go along with the deductions from my annual prescription account. Customer service credited back the “premium” deductions for products I’d never ordered or received all the while arguing with me that it was clear in their original billing that unless I opted out, I was opted in. Nowhere on the receipt I printed when I originally ordered was there a single mention of this “premium “ account bs. When my actual one year subscription is up I will not renew. Oh and the paper has very little original local reporting.

Now forced to use this app. Lubbock A-J increased monthly rates by 65%! I guess they are seeing how fast they can go out of business!

I preferred the previous version of this app where it was easier to see if you had downloaded and read past versions. When I'm on vacation, I don't always get to read the A-J everyday, but could always tell by which editions were on there what I still needed to read. However, I am very grateful to be able to read the paper online!

Since last update it crashes and directs me to home page on IPad. Very disappointed.

This app has always had some problems but since the latest update, it crashes constantly. I am not happy with it anymore. The one star rating is only because I can't submit without a rating.
  • Unusable after last update

Before date, was a bit volatile, throwing me out and back to my iPad (1) home page occasionally. Since the recent update, the app throws me out as soon as I see the newspaper page. Works the same way on my iPad 3. Not happy!

Had this app for a couple of months. It took over an hour to download new subscriptions and would take several minutes after that to load each page. I could not download the following days paper without first turning my iPad off then back on. The Push setting seemed to never work right, I had to manually update each day. I wish it worked but way too buggy.

Have tried to load today's newspaper while sitting at Love Field, Dallas. After several attempts, the third waiting for 10 minutes, no success. Plan to try to load again at home, in Lubbock, to see if it is any faster. If not, dumping this poorly designed app. lgh
