  • Not a happy camper

After Microsoft changed PowerPoint to be incompatible with my Mac, I resorted to Keynote, which in the past had been adequate. Just as I'm starting to get used to it's features, I upgrade to Big Sur and boom, Keynote won't even open a file. What gives, Apple. I would expect a new operating software to have problems with outside-developed software, but with your own stuff? Bad form, really bad form.

Requires you to run the latest versions of the OS just to open a file made on a newer version. Meanwhile I can open the latest powerpoints on a Windows XP machine. And the crApp Store won’t let you just update to the latest version for your particular OS. Nope. Requires that you upgrade to install updates.

I'm sorry, but being able to have ONLY the photos or movie folders available to insert images from is ridiculous. I can insert any image with the key command or by selecting insert from the menu or toolbar, but all of the templates come with placeholder images. And to change those images, the easiest way is to click the little image icon. Working full screen doesn't allow drag & drop. And clicking the icon brings up a window to select your image... but ONLY from a couple of folders chosen by Apple. C'mone, guys. Give that a rest.
  • Can't insert pictures.

I love Keynote, but I would really like to see Apple invest some time into making more ADA Accessbility features available. Microsoft's PowerPoint has a number of Accessibility features built in, and I would like the same for Keynote. Overall, I still use Keynote as my preferred presentation software.
