  • Don’t fix what ain’t broke

    The new update made the app so much more complicated. It’s frustrating to switch back between languages, my old translated texts were deleted, and you can’t translate pictures anymore. What’s going on Google? Do you WANT people to uninstall this?

  • Same as browser but missing one important feature

    I have been using Google translate for years but recently added it on my phone. When I use translate on browser on computer I am able to have the text input for translation be spoken but on the app I am only able to have the English translation be spoken. I understand if you used this feature to translate your native language to a foreign language it would make sense to have pronunciation for the output but if you are trying to pronounce a foreign language it does not work. For example: Input - Spanish: Hola Output - English: Hello (press button for pronunciation) But if I wanted to know how to pronounce “Hola” (perhaps I saw it on a sign and needed to use the word but didn’t know how to pronounce) this would not be useful. Additionally, the app provides no phonetics for input language. I am learning the Cyrillic alphabet and don’t have all the pronunciations/letters completely memorized and without pronunciations or phonetics this is difficult.

    I would have given it a five star if you could save Latin because that my fav language I think you should update it so that you can download Latin

    I mean it’s way better than apple translator, coming from an apple user, also I like the feature that you can click the sound on both languages... -Gen Z.

    aside from it translating incorrectly often, sometimes you type things in and nothing come up. type it in again and still nothing. the app just refuses to work and i end up going to the web browser anyway.

    I say add more languages but this app really helps me sometimes do voiceovers. It also helps me because whenever I wanna know a word in Spanish it will transaction the words so it’s a good app!
