    Wow! Great work developers. I asked for a search function and you built it in!!! My son and I tested it out and it works better than the New York Times!! ( you can search by keyword and author. ) Thank you. Here was my earlier review: This app is fine. The content skews locally, exactly like we need living in the Bay Area. But where is the little magnifying glass that allows me to search for articles? This is 2020! Wouldn’t a search function be common sense?! Am I just missing it? I have looked all through the app. Truthfully you could direct me to SFGate articles too. Then you would retain my viewership and I would see the ads you have embedded there- thus creating additional revenue for the quality journalism to be found in this paper. Please?!

    Page says I am signed it, but I get that blocked thing all the time. Customer Service said they would fix it. Never did.

    Tapping on push notifications often doesn’t take you to the article. Super annoying for breaking news. Please fix.

    I wanted to support the paper & got a digital subscription. I cancelled yesterday because, as other reviewers have noted, articles take forever to load or just never load. Also, when directed to the website to read the e-edition I have to sign in again, but I have trouble with ghat because I have a subscription through the app store. I don't know if I even have a sign in. It is just not worth it the frustration. Why can't it be seamless? I have other newspaper subscriptions & have no problem.

    When you see a notification and follow it to read the article in the app, the app never opens the article you were following. It takes 2-3 min for the article to open. Makes me not read the articles when you send out the notifications for them. Other than that I like the app.

    This app lacks everything you want in a newspaper app. Links from newsletters open in a browser and if do do to the app all you get is the front page. No way to search for articles. I’ve written to the pap directly and all they say is that they are working on it. That was 6+ months ago.

    I love the new ‘update’ features of key issues, I.e. COVID, wildfires, election. Wonderfully done. The links are informative as well.

  • No Email Connection

    I love the daily emails that many newspapers, including The Chronicle, offer with summaries of the news. However when tapping on article in an email from The Chronicle, you’re taken to Safari, and must log in to read the whole article. Or tap the ribbon at the top in Safari which takes you to the app, BUT JUST TO THE FRONT PAGE, WITH NO LINK TO THE CURRENT ARTICLE! This is a big deal! Why subscribe to emails if you can’t get to the article? Every app in the world seems to be able to get this right. Please fix it!!!
