Some parts wor others not on OS Catalina. New cloud development bombs the app and some sliders do not work at all.

Doesn’t work on High Sierra

This app looked ike just what I needed, but it doesn’t work at all on High Sierra on either my Macbook Pro or my iMac. The “preview” is just a white box that never changes. If I do a “Full Render” I sometimes see items I’ve tried to place, but other times not. Fairly useless app at this point.

In ten minutes I had completed the tutorials. In thirty minutes I was rendering out pictures like the ones above. This software is freaking awesome.
Use brushes like standard, spike, circle, noise, erode, and water erode to draw in terrain. Combine with filters like add noise, clamp, equalize, and flatten for better drawing control. Paint in materials (self created or choose from the many built-in) in layers over terrain using brushes or handy auto fill presets like steepness and height (for things like snow capped mountain tops). Also paint in built-in texture objects like plants, rocks, grass, leafs, flowers, sand, and wheat. Use the material editor to create your own textures with control over diffuse and bump strength. Customize water with control over transparency color, overall height, wave size, wave twirl, wave height, refraction, and mirror color to create just about any liquid you can think of. Change the sky to day or night with control over turbidity, horizon brightness, horizon luminance, circumsolar intensity, circumsolar width, backscattered light, and whether the sky itself emits light. Add multiple custom light sources. Blend customizable volumetric clouds, fog, and haze with light to create amazing looking light rays beaming down. Add models into the scene — choose from the many built-in like castles, towers, churches, houses, bridges, statues, cars, trucks, ships, trees, plants, animals, and basic geometric shapes or even import your own custom 3DS models. Move the camera anywhere with control over field of view and even different camera types including orthographic and multiple perspective camera presets. Use the Fractal Terrain feature to quickly generate prebuilt (with uniquely randomized features) starter scenes like mountain(s), rising hill, canyon, and valley. You can also build your scene and then later use Fractal Terrain to change the ground while retaining models within the scene (although they get moved around if you’re changing the ground underneath them). Fine tune with advanced customizable post processing effects including far depth of field, near depth of field, bloom filter, vibrance filter, and depth tint. Render to extremely large resolutions and control quality with path tracing samples, path tracing bounces, light samples, anti-aliasing passes, anti-aliasing samples, and clouds/fog step size. When finished export to PNG, JPEG, or TIFF and share via sharesheet to email, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Messages, AirDrop, and more.
My favorite feature is the customizable canvas sizing. I run triple monitors and have a desktop resolution of 5760 x 1080. It’s so much fun to create beautiful, gigantic landscapes that I can then use as my desktop wallpaper.
I highly recommend anyone (beginners especially) interested in creating supremely realistic quality 3D scenes to grab this. Using the TerraRay toolset well can produce renders equal to those generated from much more expensive softwares. At this price point, everyone is invited!
Awesome!

I love it. Simple yet powerful. Everything is so handy.
I would have given Five stars but have two problems. I don’t know if it’s just me or not but first, in Render settings, the preset output size doesn’t do its job when I choose a dimention that is larger than 1000. I get an output of 32.
Second, When I click Terrain And Materials the application stuck there and I have to force quite and re-open it.
Otherwise, I’m happy with it. and I wish you suprise us with more objects and feature in next updates.
I can’t find a way to open an image w/o it being yellow

I can’t find a way to open an image w/o it being yellow hinted.
I also can’t import a scene and work on it.
There probably is a simple way but after 20-30 mins of trying I give up.

Intuitive and Attractive

This app is very intuitive and has an extremely short learning curve, although it might take a little practice before getting the results looking the way you want. Its minimalist interface is a pleasure to work with. I only wish all software were this user-friendly. For the price, this is a great deal although users looking for very complex features might find it limited.

Terrains to raw. Basic terrain has good resolution, the trees are lacking to be honest. At a great distance they are tolerable close up forget it. A group of similar trees should randomize to not make them cookie cutter duplications, that make them stand out as fakes. Has alot of strengths however some significant weaknesses that could stand correcting. Looking forward to updates.

Incredibile attention to detail, perfect mix of control and guidance from the developers. Simply stunning. Runs well on my MacMini, rendering times can be longer, but previews are manageble. You could get lost in this program for months.
Simple & Powerful

The program is really straightforward. I've only been playing with it for three hours but I've gon from painting pointy, unnatural islands in water to creating a magnificent scene within that period. I found in-program tutorials located under the Help option which lowered the learning curve a bit. It's a program I'd recommend to any new 3D artist. If you're coming from fractal rendering, this is a fantasic jump into 3D. If you need quick outdoor scenes for a 3D model, it works well.
Creating a small island is as simple as creating a shape and eroding seperate parts of the island. Adding some foliage and rocks. Adjusting the light and clouds for a dramatic feel finishes the scene. In ten minutes you can have a scene ready to render.
The canvas can be restricting in your creations. Another thing I've noticed is that none of the sliders have editable values. So you can't type in a number or memorize it's value so you can experiement with other values. When editing clouds there's no cancel, it's all immediatley applied. Camera controls are odd, you can't move/rotate the camera as a whole you have to adjust the start and end point individually which can yield a different focal distance.
In the end, despite some limitations it's an admirable program capable of so much.
Beyond what I expected!

After using this amazing program for a few weeks, I am more than pleased with its capabilities! I expected such an affordable program to be just an entry level 3D renderer, but now I have found that possibilities are endless. Even at full price, this app is a steal for what you can create. Once you have mastered the basics, you are limited only by your creativity. Final rendering time can be slow (for very high image quality), but for all the fun this program provides, I can deal with it! The developer support is outstanding and their website provides a Forum and link to the TerraRay Flickr community. If you are considering this app, just get it and have fun!
