  • Don’t pay for this—it won’t work

As a previous reviewer noted, the iPhone app subscription does not work properly and won’t unlock the “premium content” for which you just paid. There are no refunds.

I subscribed with World In Figures, I face to problems: 1- the information is old, most of it since 2017-2018, kindly update to 2019-2020. 2- The GDP should be by USD not by the country's currency.

  • My go-to source for global data & comps

It’s my go-to source for global data & comparisons. However, like any database and what it can show, it’s only as good as the analytics are insightful and accurate. E.g. the rankings for least representatives in democracies has Mexico at #1 at 0.39 and India at #15 at 0.04 and the USA at #14. It’s upside down!! For least reps 0.04 is top ranked above 0.39!
  • Pretty bad job, especially from economist!!!!

When do you update? Today end Jan 2018 country list like top economies of the world displays 2016 data. Unbelievable! It is claimed that data is updated every 3 months. Really?

The booklet, hard copy form of World in Figures was great. This app is awkward to use and shallow.
  • Premium Version Crashes

Since the free version was quite useless (no data of any importance is available there) I went ahead and paid for the premium version within a few minutes. I used to be a subscriber to print magazine and The Economist used to send the pocket World in Figures. I loved those little books. I was expecting something like that and 6 bucks would’ve been worth it. Alas, this app (paid version) doesn’t even come close. It doesn’t have most of the data from the pocket book. It doesn’t give you many advantages that a digital publication could have given. And, It crashes!! Very annoying and productivity sapping. The Economist definitely eroded its brand name by selling this.

Why cant the currency be automatically translated to my country (US dollar)? Dont want to have to google translate myself. Wikipedia does better then this waste of money. Lost my trust in the economist
  • Disappointing.

I thought this small app would be part of my subscription to The Economist, but it's not. It has very little content and costs more than many apps that offer significantly more value. Very disappointing from a respected name like The Economist.
