  • App defaulting a year off

As of the recent update, my dates in December 2020 are defaulting to 2021. January 1st defaults to 2022, but then on January 2nd flips back to 2021 (the actual correct year).

Todoist has been a game changer for me. There are so many penguins on the iceberg that as soon as another hops on, at least one falls off. I've been using Todoist for years. I schedule tasks, even recurring ones like my cleaning schedule, and even enter those random items that come to mind that I don’t want to forget. It helps me keep my head on straight when life is spinning in multiple directions around me. Thank you!

This app did exactly what I wanted it to do, help me become more productive. Ironically, I spend SO much less time on my phone now that I have a list of things to do and constantly forget to get on and log stuff. I can’t find any way to go back and check activities for previous days. Otherwise, this app did exactly what I needed it to do to my productivity immediately
  • Simple but subtle. And effective.

Todoist has a wonderful feature of allowing an infinite number of subtasks. I use this feature extensively. Now all of a sudden you can no longer see your subtasks in the today view unless you click on the task. The today view, for me is a planning tool. Before now, you could look at everything you have planned for a given day and prioritize and make adjustments as needed. No more. Now you just see the parent task. And if you date the subtask it shows it in-line thereby loosing the organization of tasks and subtasks. In short with this one change, the developers have completely redesigned this tool. I discovered the answer is to have more sub projects rather than subtasks. This works but isn’t as clean. The explanation I received when I wrote to support was “ We've recently removed the option to see sub-tasks inline (i.e. by expanding a parent task) in the Today view or in any other filter view. We've removed this option so the user experience will be cleaner and simpler, as well as to reduce the product, design, and engineering complexity of Todoist.”
  • Fantastic app... one problem

In nested lists when I check something off it shifts the list up or down and I have to scroll to find where I was checking things off. Most frustrating.
  • Doesn’t sync with Apple Watch

Apparently this is a known, longstanding issue (thanks Reddit community), but this app simply does not sync on Apple Watch. No matter how many restarts, resyncs, or reinstalls, it shows no tasks for today on my watch, which is my primary reason for downloading the app.
