Description

Welcome to the world of Ingress Prime, Agent. The fate of this universe, and perhaps others, depends on you. The discovery of Exotic Matter (XM), a resource of unknown origin, has sparked a covert struggle between two Factions. Cutting-edge XM technologies have completely transformed the Ingress Scanner, and it is now waiting for you to join this battle. THE WORLD IS YOUR GAME Explore the world around you and interact with places of cultural significance—such as public art installations, landmarks, and monuments—to collect valuable resources using your Ingress Scanner. CHOOSE A SIDE Fight for the Faction you believe in. Harness the power of XM to evolve mankind and discover our true destiny with The Enlightened, or protect humanity from a hostile takeover of the mind with The Resistance. BATTLE FOR CONTROL Dominate territories by linking Portals and creating Control Fields to achieve victory for your Faction. WORK TOGETHER Strategize and communicate with fellow Agents in your neighborhood and around the world. Agents must be over 13 years old (for residents outside of the European Economic Area); or over 16 years old or such age needed to consent to the processing of personal data in the Agent's country of residence (for residents of the European Economic Area). • Could not load ingress account data

I really wanted to play this. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even get beyond logging in. I am kind of shocked Niantic allows this game to be so buggy. After a google search, this appears to be an ongoing problem.
  • Bad and getting worse

Dominated by obsessive bullies. Ruined by spoofing cheaters. Horribly unbalanced play Niantic Terribly unresponsive to legitimate complaints and submissions. Cheaters deliberately placing portals in dangerous areas, or away from actual site, and not allowing corrections. Non-existent portals impossible to remove (abandoned buildings/public art that doesn’t exist) Repair suggestions. BAN CEMETERIES. disrespectful to play games on dead people. Allow ONLY entrance to cemetery, NOT individual gravesites so players aren’t trampling graves and driving around cemeteries. Make it progressively harder to maintain/charge/deploy more portals. Allowing fielding/linking of white portals under-fields (as long as links aren’t crossed) to carve points away from gigantic fields. —give advantage to walking microfielders, not long distance cargressers or flygressers who cover gigantic areas. Develop inter-team cooperative play options (multi-colored portals, alternating nesting triangles) Stop all play above walking-jogging speed 5 mph, not 45mph which still encourages dangerous cargressing. Create special items that let players field/attack at greater distances. (Drone was a step in the right direction) Create special items that allow players to attack from a portal down a link. DISCOURAGE STALKING THROUGH GAME DESIGN! Add short term deployable “mines” that agents can deploy on portal, and if another player stalks and follows too close or too soon to multiple portals their account get disabled for a period of time. Example: a mine would “attach” to a player, they would get warning, it would expire in 10-15 minutes. If three mines were collected from the same agent (because they were repeatedly and closely following a player) they would “detonate” and opposing/stalking players account would be disabled for an hour or more. Add more teams colors.

Either play it once in a while or really get into the community. The app it’s self works well. They do have a couple bugs every now and then, but they are also always looking to improve it and make the player’s experience even better than before. You can explore new towns and maybe even find things around your old town that you never knew was there. Choose a team and capture the world.
  • To complicated

I just think it’s too complicated for new players and to complete the tutorial you have to walk to a “ portal”. It’s not very easy to understand for 9 year olds ( Age group used as an example).
  • Great clandestine mapping and strategy game!

I’ve been playing since mid June 2015, and although the interface has changed over the years, at its core, Ingress is still the best AR game out there when it comes to games that will get you outside and remain socially distanced during these pandemic times. Because of the exploration theme behind the game, I have found more trails to hike, seen new cities that aren’t always a half continent away, and strategized with teammates from both my own town and the surrounding region - including across state borders. While there is a huge chunk of Ingress’ player base that is heavily competitive between two teams, the newer players coming in from Pokemon Go and other games have discovered some of the more cooperative angles of the game (including in the now-virtual First Saturday events), and some of the badge challenges that occasionally pop up. Whether you are looking for a steeplechase-type event like a Hexathlon, a citywide conquest in larger groups called an anomaly (anomalies are postponed during the pandemic), individual road races against the clock for checkpoints, out to build your own set of triangles or tear an enemy faction’s triangles down - or of you are out to explore and add new AR markers (portals) to the map, this game offers a lot of different “games within the game”, bringing something for everyone, no matter your age, or physical condition. It’s a bit more than a digital capture the flag game. “The world around you is not what it seems” is an understatement of a tag line, and I am happy to be part of a community of a still-growing players even now at the 8 year anniversary of the game. Slick graphics and game play aside, sure, there are bugs. And there are also some very dedicated staff workers behind the scenes working on combatting game issues and smoothing over programming bugs within due course. Above all, this game has a solid community behind it, and I look forward to seeing the game continue to develop and grow.

I personally love this game! It gives me a good reason to get out and move around. However, I do think it would be rather useful if the game had an option to add friends online and private chats!
  • New version will rob you.

Been a while since I used this. Running it required an upgrade. Once upgraded I went to deploy a resonator and before I could stop it or escape I got dinged for $1.99. No way to reverse charge. So after 3+ years I have deleted app. Beware this app will cost you to play it.
  • Interesting premise but fails on delivery of gameplay content

There’s no other game quite like Ingress, and for good reason. It’s surprisingly deep but also lacking in gameplay elements at the same time. This is a PVP game where you battle other agents in real life locations via the portals in game. Issue here is that the game became extremely dull when you are located in areas with few players. You cannot play the game anymore because almost all the gameplay is aimed at local in person PVP interactions. There really needs to be more marketing and dynamic content because there’s a huge opportunity here to have a fun engaging game. Live world events organized by players are the best part of the game but that’s pretty rare and you have to travel which isn’t really possible with Covid pandemic. My favorite part of the game because of lack of players for PVP is the missions for exploration of different neighborhoods. Unfortunately lately even that feature is broken and new missions are not getting approved. Overall I think this game really needs some rework as the gameplay concepts haven’t really changed in years while the player base has suffered almost a complete collapse in my area without new updates in content.
  • Crashes on start

The latest update, which the app insisted on having, just crashes on startup every time. I’m glad I don’t have any streaks to lose over this.
