takes some tinkering to figure it out but it is way more intuitive and forgiving than other apps
  • GOODBYE 2.99; GOODBYE FOLDER-FACTORY

After investing a few hours into trying to figure out this "intuitive" app, I give up. Changing the look of a folder is not worth the effort this app requires, especially when I have hundreds of folders that would benefit from a new appearance. I wasted $2.99 (plus tax) to get a look at this one. I'm very skeptical about the legitimacy of all the favorable reviews and 4 rating as of this date. App is being deleted from my computer. BUYER BEWARE.

I give up. After trying to get this to work I found it NOT user freindly as advertised and there were no instructions on how to use it. Waste of my time.

I am a Graphic Artists. Every creation has many components, Pages versions and jpeg, png, PDF output files. I create a folder with the final image on the cover, and place ALL the various creation files inside. Clutter solved! An App I use every day … totally stable … never crashes. The right tool for the job. Highly recommend Folder Factory. Thank you, Yong Chen … nicely done! Terrapin101 / InfinityPieGraphics®

It does take a little time to get use to how it works, just be patient. You’ll be happy you did if your the type that likes to full around with your folder pictures.
  • Paint 2 for folders

Folder Factory is Paint 2 In every way except I can’t find a way to save the new folder as a copy to use again if I need more than one. Please put together a manual for those of us that stumble around in search of an answer. The time spent guessing and redoing is debilitating. If you are going to go through the process of creating such a nice propgram take a few more days and write down how it works. please. That said. It is a good program, not as easy as you make it sound but it is cool. Thanks
  • It is OS X High Sierra Compatible

16 Oct 2017 Once I update my MacBook Pro to OS X High Sierra, I found that the folder utility that i have been using for years no longer worked and crashd on launch. (It was also called Folders Factory) The old app has not been updated since Aug 2012 and the developers website no longer exists … so, no support, and no updates. I found many of these folder icons utilities that have not been touched since 2014 (the bulk of them) but, Folder-Factory was updated in Oct 2017 leading me to believe that it had been updated to make in High Sierra compatible. Not one to take chances because of the no money back policy, I wrote an email to TryBest and got an immediate reply that Yong Chen’s app was compatible and got an answer back that it is compatible.. (Thanks for the immediate reply! A company with support.) I purchased it and worked with it today. The User Interface is not very intuitive and definitely not as simple as the old Folders factory I was use to; but, after figuring it out, i conclude that it does work fairly well. This is not a polished product yet, so expect a bit of a learning curve, and some saving of folder icons someplace else because it does not store your creations in any sort of template that can be recalled. So you will need to designate a folder to send them to. Double clicking on the files in that folder will bring up the design so that it can be used to change a folder’s icon or to creat a new folder with it. (Apply) This is also a bit of an odd way of doing things as well; but, it works. The app does track most recently used folder designs; however, it has a limit of only the 10 most recent designs used, so do not get use to thinking that this is a template library. It isn’t. Your folder that you save your designs to will be the only thing you can use to find all designs you have created especially if there are more than 10. It does come stocked with a variety of folder icons to start with, although not as numerous and of the variety in the Folders Factory app that I use to use; but, take heart. You can import the icons and save them off in this app by opening an existing folder icon that you created by other means. At least that preseves your previous handy work. All in all, this meets my immediate needs and hopefully the user interface and lack of the ability to store templateswill be resolved with future releases and , cross-our-fingers, Yong will cointinue to support the app with future releases of OS X. For now, it seems to be the only game in town with any ratings.
  • Hard to figure out.

Let me preface this by saying this app works as advertised on my macOS Sierra version 10.12.2. I have created different color folders, folders with text, folders with images, and icons for folders. With that said, I am not thrilled with this product and I will try my best to explain. I am not that tech savvy, but can usually figure out software fairly quickly with tutorials, guides, etc. I found no tutorials, and the software does not come with a help section. Folder-Factory is not intuitive (my opinion) and feels alien on my Mac. Learning something should be fun and adventurous, not frustratingly painful. Even for such a low price. Let me end with this. You can create amazing folders with this product, just expect to spend some time figuring it out.
