I don’t think I want to assign a volume to be managed by an app that has no shred of help or documentation. I’ll let you see what you get when you click on the ‘support’ link. Five bucks down the toilet.

This app is great and does exactly what it says it will do. Not only is it easy to use, but customer service from the app developer is superb. I e-mailed him a question about the functionality of the app and received a response in less than a day. I highly recommend this app for anyone who has confidential files on their Mac that need protection from the public.

As the "macguru" I have worked on Macintosh computers since 1984, when the first Mac was released. The problem of passwords and protection for folders has long been present with the Mac, since the Apple operating system does not have a feature to password protect files and folders. This simple and inexpensive ($5.99) app does the job elegantly and effectively for all those protecting files that are less important than national security Top Secret documents. The directions are clear, but as with all apps, must be read before you can use the app. One creates a password for the app itself, (by clicking the lock icon at the bottom of the window) which is required whenever one tries to open it. This protects hackers from getting into your secret files. A strong password, containing 12 or more characters, both capitals and lower case, numbers and meta-symbols, (!@#$%^&*()_+=-{}|\][) is recommended, by me, at least. That type of password will require more computer power and time than the usual hackers can afford to put to the task of unscrambling your password. Then you create a few groups, such as "Finances", "Personal Records," etc. Then one can drag any folder or file into a selected group. When you do that the file disappears from your disk. It is also renamed as a hidden file. Hidden files cannot be opened by the usual user, thief or hacker. You can unclick a checkmark next to a file or folder when you want to use it, then re-click the checkmark to hide it again. As I said, five minutes to set it up is minimal and gives the average user a reliable and useful tool to frustratee those that want your birth certificate, SSN, financial data, etc.

This app is perfect for those who want to hide files or simply protect them from the eyes of other users. This is a huge feature that MAC computers are missing and it's very handy. The App is simple and elegant, it does what it says. Hides files or folders, whichever you want. The advantage of being able to create groups is awesome, you can separate things that aren't related, if you want to hide work stuff you can create a group and name it "WORK" or whatever you want. It's pretty cool. Overall is a great App, and also the ability to request a password every time you want to access the App or the "secret" files is awesome. If you don't want to have to input a password all the time, you can also turn off the password feature. Good job guys! I'm very happy with my purchase!! And for just 6 bucks you can't complain really :)
