What a pleasure to have my favorite reference book with me without the burden of carrying around the bound original! Lovely feature to have recent searches listed. I do wish that there were more examples of the different uses of each word.

For the most part it seems adequate but the last eight times I looked up words for them were not to be found.

Using the oxford dictionaries website is much better, for many reasons, for example the audio quality of the recorded words is immensely better.
  • Lacks functions of actual OED

Doesn’t have historical quotations to show origins and evolution of the word.
  • Very Useful

Unfortunately, an actual Oxford dictionary is too large and heavy to have on hand at all times. This app is a convenient alternative for when one needs to look up a word at short notice and, conveniently, it also offers a guide to pronunciation.
